Can I downshift my RVB to 2nd gear to use as a passing gear

I just installed a RVB 904 in my 66 Valiant.Everything is NEW CRT transmission. John is NOT available until Mon to ask for proper break in. What are your thoughts? Just have to finish plumbing the cooler and want to try it out before Monday.

My question was what do I need to go to a reverse valve body as far as shifter linkage. I know I can remove the kickdown linkage. I am kinda unclear as to what I need as far as matching the trans to the motor.

I have a 66 Valiant and want to remove the gas tank for a clean out or replaccement. My question is what is the easiest way to empty it. Also has anyone used the Spectre replacement tank from Rock Auto? Any suggestions and tips for doing this? Thanks for your input.
