Thanks for your input. The car is complete except for the last few things on the list. The front bumper is twisted but can be straightened.
Get the word out for me. I need to sell this car.
Thanks

It's time for me to give up my project car. It is a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Barracuda. I am the second owner and it has been in the family since new. I know the full history of the car and have a lot of documents to show. I have the original bill of sale and all plates that have been on the car...

Thanks for all your responses. The car is really solid. One rust spot on right rear fender the size of a dime. Frame and floors are 100%. I'm going to try listing it one more time for $4000. If I don't get any interest, I will start parting it out. Hate to do it but I need to get rid of it...
It's been a while since I've been on the forums. Haven't had much time in the last few years. So here is what I got....

Just curious, how have you guys replaced the pitman and worm gear seals on the manual stearing box? Do you use the special tools? I'm not wanting to tear the whole gear box apart right now.

The pad should have some studs coming off of the back side of the pad. Reach up under your dash and feel for the studs along the inside. Might be a 5/16 or 3/8 nut holding it on. Maybe 4 to 5 of them. At least that's how it is on my '64 Barracuda. Just put it on this last weekend.

I'm placeing a manual box in my car now and opened it to check it out.
Is that what is in the box now?
The FSM says to use SAE 80 and to fill it to the top of the worm gear.
How much of the grease do you use?
When I look in the box now, I can see the worm gear without any grease around it...
Thanks for the replies, but I think I'm not clear on what seals I'm looking for. I attached a photo of the two. I guess the pitman seal would be more of a dust seal. It's cone shaped rubber that goes over the stud or ball joint.
The other seal is the one that caps off the lower end of the...
Looking for a new pitman arm grease boot or seal.
Also looking for the seal that goes on the bottom of the steering column. Not sure what it's called. Manual calls it two things: Column lower seal and jacket seal. Pretty much the seal at the bottom of the tube that the steering shaft comes out...
Do I need to worry about seals?
It's not in the car yet. Should I continue with it and see what it is once the engine is broken in? Would hate to pull it again.
