I have a ‘70 440/727 from a B body, and was wondering if this combo would drop into 73-75 A body. I know I can get the 440 to fit with mods, but can I use the B body 727 as well? Would I have to make a new drive shaft to fit? Appreciate any info and thoughts on this combo! Thanks

Interesting read. I still have both Craftsman and Snap-on sockets, ratchets, wrenches, etc., from the mid ‘70s.. the stuff that comes out today is nothing in comparison to what these tools were like back then. Even snap-on took a dump in 1999, and yeah... I still buy the crap when needed...

Don’t anything about the crank or balancer. I believe I looked it up once, and for some reason I want to say the engine is a ‘78, but not positive. I can try and look at the casting number if the headers and starter are not blocking it.
