440/727 from B body

[69 Beeper]

I have a ‘70 440/727 from a B body, and was wondering if this combo would drop into 73-75 A body. I know I can get the 440 to fit with mods, but can I use the B body 727 as well? Would I have to make a new drive shaft to fit?

Appreciate any info and thoughts on this combo! Thanks

If u already have a 727 then the driveshaft will fit. If u have a 904 then 4 inches has to come off. And if u change the diff chop chop. Kim

If the vehicle in question already has a V8 (small block) k-member you can modify it into a copy of the old Direct Connection big block k-member.

If I ever get "to this" I plan on using a front motor plate. It sure seems to me to save a bunch of .. . .. . .. . . .. . .around

There's at least one member here who sells them, and you can make your own. Mill the thickness of the plate off the water pump housing and you can use the stock pulleys

On your B body 727, if you plan to run column shift you need a different linkage shift linkage bracket for A body.
