    Passon Performance 5-speed

That is something to consider. I have 535 lb/ft of torque. The 855 is supposed to take 600+. I did use GL4 80w90 conventional in my 833. It is a junkyard trans that I never rebuilt and I took it down the strip at least 200 times without issue. I would think that 75w90 would be ok in the 855, but...

Thanks for letting us know what works Jim. I'll have to give it a try!

    Passon Performance 5-speed

Thanks Jim. When you get it out, let me know how the 75w-90 works. I'll add the rest of the bottle and see what happens. I know what the great white north is like. I lived in Michigan for 39 years! Roger

    Passon Performance 5-speed

Jim, my transmission shifts great when warm with 75w-140 Lucas trans and diff but it is impossible to shift when it is cold, even 60 degrees. I start out in the morning and I can shift through the gears just fine at a standstill, but as soon as the car moves, I can't shift it into any other...

Any hot tips on replacing gas tank filler tube grommet?

I had to soak mine in boiling water to make it more flexible. Don't burn your fingers when you take it out.

    problem

If these are parts have not been previously bolted together, I would guess that you have a transmission with a 4.80 inch diameter bearing retainer and you are trying to put it into a bell housing with a 4.35 inch opening (see brian6pac post 3). You may luck out and find that the previous owner...

[Found!] A-body pass side motor mount 67-72

The 318 and 340 mounts on the passenger side are the same width but the 340 driver's side is 3/8" narrower. In the picture above, my 340 mount is on the left. Some people use the 318 mount on a 340 and put washers in to fill the gap.

Is there a difference application for these 2 clutch forks?

The one in my SB Duster looks like the one pictured except it has doesn't have the hole drilled in it because the end broke off. The slot is for a spring mount. The spring goes from the clutch fork to the z bar to keep the adjustable rod snug against both sides. I don't know about the other...

Bell to trans bolts. Grade 5 or 8 ?

I just went out and checked mine. The bottom 2 are grade 5 (3 lines) but I can't see the top ones. I have 535 ft-lbs of torque and launch at the dragstrip at 4000 rpm with drag radials so I think you're good!

Clutch disc preferences for street driven small block 4 speed

I have a dual friction centerforce clutch in my 416 with 510 HP and 535 ft-lbs torque at the flywheel. I have 4.10 gears with MT ET streets. The clutch works great on the street but I have dead hooked at the drag strip several times and the clutch slipped. After each slip I had to re-adjust my...

[WANTED] 8 3/4 rear end for 66 Dart

I have a 489 4.10 out of my 70 duster. I rebuilt it a year ago with new gears, bearings and a new clutch style sure grip. I also replaced the crush sleeve with a solid pinion spacer. It has yukon axles with green bearings. The axles are about 7 years old and are 4.5 x 5. The housing is stock...

    Shop Press

I have the 12 ton from Harbor Freight. I've used it for bearings etc and it works just fine. I keep it in a corner and pull it out when I need it. You just need to be sure it's on a flat surface. It's the only one I have ever used so I have nothing to compare it to but I like it.
