67 Barracuda in a LX Body

The track width on the LX platform is about 8" wider than on the A-bodies, so you'll have a hell of a time getting any of the suspension to fit

    Door hinge pins

So you're only putting new bushings in the holes that currently have them or are you drilling out and adding bushings to the holes that previously just had the pins in them?

    Do these exist?

Why not just put an electric fan on it and call it a day?

    Opinions

You'll need a different flywheel for the 360 vs the 273, but otherwise it should all fit fine.

    Sell 318 for this 340?

Well, he never said it was "recently rebuilt"- he said "completely rebuilt". Of course, that could mean it was completely rebuilt in 1984, 40,000 miles ago.

    Got An Opinion?

    What's the "mustang tank mod"?

    2008 Challenger 6.1 swap input

More importantly, there's a sensor required to determine the wheel speed and adjust engine operations accordingly, which is part of the rear axle assembly. You need to put a tone ring on the trans output shaft to create the signal, since you won't be using the rear. You should really...

Sealant on center section gasket and axle shaft gaskets?

I forgot all about that stuff. I used it a few years back for something on my LS-swapped 69 Camaro, and now I can't remember what it was. It was recommended to me for a specific application, and it worked well. I probably still have the rest of the bottle laying around somewhere.

Sealant on center section gasket and axle shaft gaskets?

Some say to install them dry, some say use a spray sealant, and others say to scrap the paper gaskets altogether and just use one of the modern sealants in a tube. What say y'all?

Buying a Magnum Core- Max Mileage?

That's why I asked the question- I'm not being cheap or stupid- it's a matter of spending money where it makes sense. If the motors go for 200k miles without bore wear, and I'm only likely to put another 10k on it over the next few years, rings and bearings are a waste of money (or money I can...

Buying a Magnum Core- Max Mileage?

I'm looking for a 5.9L Magnum core, and many of the ones I'm seeing are in the 150,000-200,000 mile range, which sounds excessive, but is it really? I've done several GM LS-series swaps, and 150,000 miles on one of those motors is nothing- it's considered "just broken in". Is it the same with...

    tool box/chest

Another vote for the US General boxes from Harbor Freight. I've got one of their boxes that has a ton of storage and is built better than anything from Husky, Kobalt or Craftsman, and at a better price.

Sand Glazing putty wet or dry?

That's the red stuff we used back in the 80's. Had to sand it wet or it'd clog paper in a matter of seconds. The new polyester putties seem to sand just as well dry.

    trunk pan replacement info needed

The quarter panels were probably made by AMD or someone else- this was a panel that they make in-house. The stiffener ribs were made with a bead roller, rather than being stamped into the panel like the bigger manufacturers do- it looked like a home-made panel, rather than a stamping.

    trunk pan replacement info needed

I just put in a rear floor pan patch from C2C, and it was the worst-fitting piece of sheetmetal I've ever installed. Thankfully I didn't need to turn up the back side of the pan, since their patch was about an inch too short. There was quite a bit of "beat to fit" and "tackweld and ballpeen"...
