just did this. pull door off hinges, leave hinges on the body.knock out (w/o bending the body) where they are bolted on, or grind the tops off to knock out. u may even have to heat them w/ a small hand held torch and let them cool before knocking out. had to redrill for my new bushings, then had to redrill the inside of the bushings for a perfect fit. careful, keep them tight, or all is for nought ! ain`t that bad. you`ll need another set of hands if your car is already painted.

I just done mine, I used an air hammer with a punch attachment. Best to have sets of hands when it comes to the doors. be careful not to cross thread the door bolts as they have plenty of adjustment to them.

If your pins are worn then the holes they go through are probably worn as well.

They have kits with new pins and bushings that you install. You have to drill out the holes to a slightly larger size then insert the bushings. The nice part is that the door hinges end up having a very smooth feel and they are very tight. I have personally done this a couple times and it works awesome.

It's very easy to do. Good luck.

Just did 2 of my hinges with the Dorman kit. Worked out fine, but they were not wore to the point they needed oversize bushings. Take your time with the bushings most I have messed with whether gm, ford, or chryco are rather fragile. It doesn't take much to split a bushing

Eggs are fragile. Steel pins and bronze bushings not as much. Unless your trying to smash them through a way undersized hole that is.

Follow the directions to the letter and you will have ZERO problems.

So you're only putting new bushings in the holes that currently have them or are you drilling out and adding bushings to the holes that previously just had the pins in them?

Drill the holes to the proper size on the inner hinge part as the pin holes on the outer shouldn't be changed. Sometimes you may have to polish or grind off a little of the inner part so the flange area will clear the inside of the outer piece.

If drilling, either way really, need to maintain a slight press fit on the bushing so it doesn't turn in the hole.

Sounds like a lot of experience out there. Thank you for your ideas, it should make the job much easier.
