    Painting Car

I forgot to mention that if you paint the door jambs with the doors on it is difficult to get the hinge area since the interior will probably be completely masked off. The door will be wide open but it is still a little tight to get the spray gun the right distance away when spraying the door...

    Painting Car

I am also in agreement with Pete. A few helpful hints: My biggest concern with painting doors and fenders off the car is scratching the new paint when putting them back on. You can put masking tape on the corners to help protect them. Also, painting in sections may help. The biggest section...

    classic car loans

I don't think it is wise to take out a loan for something like that unless you have enough cash to pay it off. In which case why would you need to borrow? A classic car is not a necessity. Anyway, what are you going to do with it...take it to car shows and tell people that you bought it all...

Married guys - car budgets and honesty

Greg, Basically, if your woman feels fairly sure that your family is financially secure she will be more likely to accept the expenses associated with your hobbie. Stay out of debt, put money aside for future family needs, and put more money in the bank than you spend on your Mopar. That...

Married guys - car budgets and honesty

When I was married many years ago I had nice Mopars but not much else. As other priorities took over I reluctantly sold the Mopars, as many of you probably did. Had to buy a home, support kids, save for their college, remodel a home, build a garage and a deck, etc. Always wanted another Mopar...

    exhaust tip question

Wait a minute..."people" Hello Kitty" tailpipe tips? That is insane! I don't have have any photos now but what about factory turn down style? Like the tailpipes that came on cars not equipped with the optional bright tips.

    Porting My Edelbrock Cylinder Heads

Those flow numbers look very impressive for those heads. Both intake and exhaust. I have heard of people getting over 300cfm from the intake side but they broke through and had to plug it. The car those heads went in runs mid 11.'s

quickest et,s on an edelbrock carby

What about mechanical secondaries on a carter or Eddy.? I don't have enough vacuum for vacuum secondaries. Also, couldn't a Thermoquad be a decent performance choice?

1969 dart swinger 340 rolling chasis value

Washington, PA, I used to drive there every day for work. That Swinger will still need many parts. Body work and paint, too. It would be nice when done, though.

1969 dart swinger 340 rolling chasis value

I saw that car on Craigslist. It looks real solid in the photos. If you already have a drive train and can do body work then $5500. - $6000. might not be too much of you really like it.

What radiator to use with a 408?

How about a U.S. Radiator High Efficiency. Factory size replacement with 4 core? stock fan shroud. It should pretty much bolt right in. I think you will need a high flow thermostat, too.

Adding 2.02 intake to J heads

Is there room for hardened exhaust valve seats when Making the conversion from 1.88 intake valves to 2.02 intake valves?

    opinions thoughts ideas

You could budget build the 360. You have almost everything. Crank would need reground new pistons, the heads would need work. Pick the right cam for stock valve gear, etc.

Adding 2.02 intake to J heads

I had my J heads upgraded to 2.02 intake valves. Was told by the machinist that there wouldn't be room for hardened valve seats. So they are not in there. Was I told wrong? The port job is nice enough and they flow 246 cfm. intake and 161 cfm. exhaust with the 1.60 exhaust valves.
