This is the hard part. The tranmissions are in the cars. I guess I could take the #'s chart with me for the 727 and the 904. I like the 999 the best for my purpose though. I guess a 88 or lower van or truck would be the best bet. How could you beat a 727.

I have not picked out one yet. I'm going tranny hunting at the yard's and not sure that I'd see a 727. I thought that a 999 would be the next best thing. The main hunt is for a early 360 block, but while I'm there I'll check transmissions at the same time. Thanks Danny

How do tell the difference between a 904 and a 999, from the outside. I found an trans #'s chart but it does not have the 999 on it. Cars at a yard may have had a tranny change and google did not help with identification. Thanks Danny

You can use C-Body brakes. I took everything from a 67 or 68. I got my axles and bearings from Moser about 8 years ago. There are some axles that can be resplined also. Danny
