rebuilding the carb did it there were pieces of the old plastic float sight screw floating around on the primary side. thanks everyone for the advice

so time for an update. the car has a new tank, sending unit, hard lines, and fuel pump. it is still having the same issue. i'm going to try finding bad wires and rebuild the carb see if that does the trick.

ok so i just picked up a 73 dart with a 383 4 speed. it has been sitting for a couple years with out running. there is a little wiring in the engine. looks like just the ignition box and starter relay. im just trying to think of everything im gonna need to get it running trying to find some...

yep got it running, broken in, timed. now i just need to do some tuning with everything

well i finally got it. as it turns out i just had a bad set of sparks. i swapped them cause i was just going through everything i could think of and it fired right up. i did have a break in additive for the cam. thanks everyone for all the help

ya i've checked the firing order quite a few times. im defiantly getting spark and gas. when i turn it over it doesn't try to start or anything. no back fires nothing. it seems like i'm not getting spark but like i said i've checked that and double checked it. i did put some bigger plug wires...
