My name is Jim and I have 66 Dart "GT". It will be a while before I'll be ready for new paint but was wanting to get some feed back from you about what y'all think is appropriate. It has a 225 in in right now with a 904 and 7 1/4 behind it. Will be putting a cammed 318 in it with a 727 and 8 1/4...
I'm going to go with what I have. (318-727) And get 8 1/4. I am not going to be dragging anyone anyway. Just a cruiser. Don't see any sense in buying a V8 904 unless this 727's no good and probably can get it freshened up for about the same price as buying one used. They always say "Working fine...
Thought of that all ready. Would be better to do it all at same time. Beings its just a 318, hopefully there want be that much work on tunnel. Hope the seam is all I'll have to deal with.
The 904 I have is behind the 225 /6 setting in the 66 Dart.
When I go up to Oklahoma to get the 8 1/4 rear end, I am also going to look at some 64 though 66 darts. Some of them suppose to be V 8 s. Maybe they will be cheap enough to get a parts car.
When I pull the 225 and 904. I might look at putting the 904 behind the 318. When I clean it up and put fresh fluid in it, it might perform better. Sluggish right now. Plus need to work on console shiftier. Very sloppy right now and loose. Will kick down linkage hook up the same way?
Is it that much work to flatten that joint on the tunnel so the 727 will fit. I will keep that option in mind. Will have to shorten the D shaft some day to receive the 8 1/4 rear end. Every thing I have read says the /6 904 is not strong enough for the 318. Was told by the seller of the 318 that...
Been awhile since I was on here. How are you all doing. I appreciated all of your advice last month and I am back with another question. First let me fill you in on where I am at with the 66. Still waiting on my mechanic friend to get here to see if we can start this 318 on its cradle. He has...
I just went back and looked again. DAH! I am all wrong that is not a pin from Trans. There is bracket attached to those two small holes on underside of the rear part of tTrans. This bracket comes across towards the drivers side of Trans. Allowing the shiftier coming down from console to attach to...
