When I get some testing done, I will post the results. I suspect it will be a venturi effect also, but I will try yarn. These vents on the side will not likely be a high-pressure area. The movement of the strips of paper towels is caused by the fan blowing air back. There was probably a reason...
I have not collected temps yet. I will plug the vents and see where the temps go, then unplug and see. I want to do this on a hot day and hopefully the outside temps and humidity will be very similar while I run both tests.
Thought I would share this as it might be useful for some. I put air vents in the hood and inserts to help move out some hot air. I posted a link to show how it works.

Good afternoon. I thought I would post this as it might help someone. I'm doing a leak check before I install the tank. It has been some time now and the little guy still has a firm handshake.
The sender works fine but it appears to be leaking around the rubber bushing where the wire connects to it. Who refurbishes these senders, anyone know?
That's what I suspected. I'm getting ready to replace the sending unit & probably the tank as it is leaking. Found it there when, you guessed it, tried to siphon the gas. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Here is a picture of my tank filler tube and another of what is inside. This is a 68 dart. Did some of these cars come with anti siphon devices or did someone jam a spring in the gooseneck? I can not find any reference of this anywhere.
One last request before I decide... Could I get a picture of the top and back please. I would be interested in the hood without the inserts as it would be installed on a 68. Thanks
Looking to buy 68 or 69 dart GTS hood. Daily driver quality is fine as I will paint. Prefer to pick up. willing to drive 100 or 150 miles from Virginia zip code 20187.
Thanks for responding in advance and god bless all the veterans!
