Thats what I thought but with the ign switch in the accy position I have no voltage on them. Of course the sw may be bad but I wanted to make sure there is only one hot feed to the ignition switch.

Yah, this is going to take some time checking everything. It dosn't look like it was from the bulkhead connector, the worst affected part of the harness is right behind the distributor. Until I get the old harness out I wont be able to tell for sure what happened. Note to self, don't let son...

So this begs the question, how do you tell if it's the correct ported vacuum? Or are all the vacuum outlets on the manifold either "correct" ported or full? Question comes about cause of problems getting the vacuum advance on the dist working correctly after swapping over to elec dist.

Depends on what you consider "cheap". I just don't think I have the energy to do much more on my 73 Swinger but I can't just let it go for nothing..

I know exactly what you mean, am thinking about cutting out the slotted part of the cowel, welding a frame around the opening and putting in a removable mesh so I can easily clean out any debris.

65s, Thanks for the pic's, at least I have a much better idea where I need to go with this. Looks like a real PITA but better than wet feet and ruined carpets and floor pans.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but.. I have the same water issue and have replaced the pivot seals and verified the seal of the windscreen and still getting my feet wet. Only place I can think of that water can still be coming in from would be due to rot around the "top hat" in the cowel...

Seeing as the price for original bucket seats are so high, I was wondering if anyone has performed any research on modern seats that will fit a 73 Swinger? The local wrecker yards are full of later cars with good interiors but I thought it worth asking before I spend lots of time measuring...
