I too agree with nemesis...I hope you get a lot of work from this thread...and as I said before...when my other car sells, I will be in line for on of your famous 318 torque motors...I am glad to have your info here as I am sure many other 318 owners are thinking the same thing

Sometimes in extremely rare situations the alternator can cause an electrical short...meaning that something inside the alt. is grounding out the positive circuit direct to ground which would cause the surge that you are experiencing...so, have you had the alt. checked for shorts?...that can be...

I suppose it's too late at this point...but what you should have done was use an old soup can (clean of course), fill with clean oil and drop the lifters in and let soak over night...then just before dropping them in...I used a big #3 phillups screwdriver and with the lift under oil would pump...

I found the info for the wheel pattern...the Charger runs a 5X115mm while the Dart runs a 5X4.5 which equates in metric measurement to a 114.3mm...that's only a .7mm difference...split that measurement into a circle pattern between 5 lugs and you're splitting hairs...some guys are running the...

I am a little shocked that the charger is wider...from a standing view point it does'nt look wider...the dart measures 69.5" while the charger is 74.5"...but if you look at the size of tire they use compared to the 69 tire I may be able to make this work...still more physical measuring will need...
