    Blowing voltage regulators

I'm up in Wilmington. I really think this car could use some new wiring and probably a timing adjustment but I've been insanely busy with work so I've been putting it off.

    Blowing voltage regulators

I didn't quite follow all that, but I was thinking of just redoing the whole harness with this Speedway Universal 22 Circuit Wiring Harness

    Blowing voltage regulators

67Dart, It's not coming out of the alternator it's just sitting on top. I think it used to be the temp sensor which has a different wire now. I also ran a wire off the connection at the resistor in order to get 12V to the the carburetor's automatic choke. That wouldn't change the voltage at...

    Blowing voltage regulators

It very possibly could have grounded on the case. I also have no clue what this third wire is supposed to connect to.

    Blowing voltage regulators

The fusible link for the upper contact melted. So if I'm reading correctly the problem is not enough resistance in the alternator and replacing the fusible link would not solve the problem. Might as well buy one of those new alts with the built in regulators.

    Blowing voltage regulators

Did you find an answer on this? I blew the same wire on mine.

    Header melted the shift cable.

I have the old shift linkage hooked back up now but the transmission still has what I believe is the B&M control lever so when connected to the column the travel of the indicator isn't long enought to line up with PRND12 and now I'm finding there are several control levers out there in various...

    Header melted the shift cable.

Thanks for the help guys. Since I'd rather spend the money on a new fuel sender and whatever will keep this car running cooler I'm going to hook up the old column shifter linkage. Luckily it was in a bag of spare parts that came with the car!

    Header melted the shift cable.

We learn something every day. Previous owner had installed a B&M floor shifter and hooker headers. I dont know how adjustable these cables are but I'm about to find out. The cable was left very long and actually came about an inch or two away from the exhaust so after my third outing with this...

    What's in this Barracuda?

Just following up: I Installed a kickdown cable and today it passed inspection and is now tagged and legal to drive! Now all that's left is replace the fuel sender, speedo, radiator, shocks, and get it painted and sealed up before winter.

    What's in this Barracuda?

I haven't tried that. To be honest I'm not keen on testing the limits of this little 7 1/4 differential. When I was cruising really slow around the neighborhood and I switched it from 2nd to D it really struggled like when you upshift from 1st to 3rd on a stick. I thought switching from 2nd to...

    What's in this Barracuda?

Over a year ago I picked up a Barracuda that was someone's project. They had intended it to be a gasser with a welded diff (which was broken when I got my hands on it) I got it running with a new carb and some minor engine work and replaced the broken spider and ring gears. Now I'm wondering...

    [WANTED] 7 1/4 differential spacer

I'm looking for a spacer to replace the one I've cracked in my 7 1/4 differential. It's about .277 thick. Close is ok as I can shim it.

7 1/4 differential lock pin source

If you're willing to part with it I'd really appreciate that. Otherwise I can also extract the old bolt and thread the case for the newer lock bolt

7 1/4 differential lock pin source

Replacing spider gears that the previous own had welded together. I got a new kit from motive gear and it came with this lock pin which is not going to fit. Previous owner used a wood screw. Suggestions? I've also found the right side spacer is cracked. Can I find a new spacer or just stack up...
