    Carb suggestion for 360

A 750 Proform will work great and is one of the cheapest carbs on that dyno chart and was ahead of the game up to 3400 rpm...The bigger the carb the more power you can make but where in the power band is important to the kind of driving of the vehicle and whats most important to the owner. I...

    Is anyone running a 4.7L???

I ordered a brand new 2000 Dakota with a 4.7 and 3.91 gears. Drag raced it for three years strait and sold it with 43 thousand miles on it. Ran low 15 teens with drag radials.I changed the oil all the time and never had a problem. I have heard of problems with them though. Last new vehicle i...

    340 Vs 360

:happy1:....................All engines make power -- but how you use the power you have --- is everything. Many cars with less powerful engines are beating cars with more powerful engines. The power to the rear tires and the weight of the car is all that matters ----outside of traction.

    484 purple cam..JUNK

It's the power valve. The carb is your whole problem. Run 71/81 jets with the rear power valve blocked off. timing at 38 total.......unhook your vacuum advance. If you have to turn the idle screws out more then a turn and a half then the idle circuit is to lean------a common problem with a...

    NEW setup

Sounds like the perfect set up. If it stalled at 4000 grand before it will stall at a higher rpm now. The cam is a high rpm runner....I don't really see any problems. I think it all depends on how good the porting was....408's need air.

    Thicker head gaskets/ less compression...

RustyRatRod, Compression is heat. You can run aluminum heads at a higher compression ratio and have the same -heat in the cylinder -as a lower compression steel headed engine because steel retains heat more then aluminum. The compression ratio is what it is. How much...
