    Weak in Reverse

Always. I don't know when the last rebuild was. At least 6 years, but it's not driven much. It's not a new problem for me, but one I'd like to resolve.

    Weak in Reverse

Thanks.....Ok, so when I put the car in reverse, it has very little power / torque. I need to gas it pretty good to get it even rolling. If I'm on a slight downgrade and trying to go up it backwards, I basically am stuck. I can do burnouts for days in 1, but R feels like a speed bump could...

    Weak in Reverse

Help me troubleshoot my issue. 74 duster with 727 and TCI 142200 torque converter has very little power in Reverse. All other gears seem to be strong. I'm assuming the torque converter is failing. Before I pull it apart are there any easy checks to confirm ? Or anything else it could be ...

    727 Towed in Park

Hello All, Recently I had to tow my 74 duster with 3 speed 727 trans. When it broke down, It wouldn't roll, started fine, but couldn't get it into D. My assumption was it was stuck in Park. After looking at the shift cable (B&M) it was obvious that the headers had melted away the red...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Oops, still new to this posting process......yes it does have a vent. Was wonding when I should use that. It's a auto meter one, recently replaced from the $5 summit gage. So vent it when it's hot ?

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

So..problem solved for now.....I tried to run a short line in to the pump from a gas can to output tank while priming the bowls. When setting it up, I filled the input line with fuel and noticed it leaking out the pump on the back vent hole suggesting a broken diaphram. Swapped it out with a...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Pulled the pump and saw with a mirror that the eccentric seems to be operating normally. I don't have a regulator or returning line as its mechanical. I do have a vent line which runs to the engine bay but no charcoal canister. It basically just dangles up near the alternator. Ill check it...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Ok, it's been a while but I rebuilt the carb, installed a new fuel pump ( my second new one now ) and with and started her up pretty quickly. Pressure was nice at 6-7psi, and took her out for a quick spin. She drove great so I brought her back into the bay to tune the carb. I started, made...

Low fuel pressure, new almost everything ! Help

Thanks. Good idea with the canister at the back. I haven't been running without one as I thought the GM style was good enough. So I'm assuming you need back pressure on the line to get the pressure at the gage without the carb on. Am I just looking for good flow ?
