    Parts for sunroof

Thanks 340duster. Now I understand that the felt seal is glued to the existing U channel molding so that is what I will do. My U channel appears to be in acceptable condition for this. My U channel molding on the headliner is ok also.

    Parts for sunroof

Enclosed is a picture of the seals. The one on the right is the original which is a combination of the felt round tube seal molded to a U channel. The one in the middle is Kelly's round tube felt seal. The one on the left is the typical U channel molding which is probably too short in height...

    Parts for sunroof

I also ordered the felt seals from Mr. Kelly an.d received them. Comparing with the original design, it looks like I need to obtain some new U-shaped plastic molding, sandwich the felt seal in-between, and then push this up into the panel edge. Does anyone know which brand and size of U-shape...

    Repair or replace leaky evaporator?

In 1984 my 1974 Satellite Sebring evaporator started leaking. Removed and repaired by a local shop. Started leaking again in 1987 and had to top off R12 every year till traded car in 1992. On my 1974 Dart Sport re-installed A/C with Ebay aftermarket evaporator and is ok after 2 years. See my...

Ordered Classic Auto Air for under hood

340doc: I removed the evaporator on this car to pressure test it with air in a water bucket; no visible bubbles. Installed it and it leaked R134a pretty quickly. On my 1974 Satellite, original owner, the evaporator started leaking in 1984 and had to be replaced.

Ordered Classic Auto Air for under hood

See my Classic Air underhood upgrade on my July 4, 2013 post on my 74 Dart Sport. Highly recommend you replace your old evaporator as will probably leak.

    Evap core plugged?

See my post in July 2014 where I tried to reuse the original disconnected evaporator; it leaked after a day and had to replace with one from ebay.

Restore factory ac or go aftermarket

Hello, see my post on July 4, 2013 where I installed the Classic Air engine side kit on my 74 Dart Sport. I thought my original evaporator was leak free but wound up later replacing it due to leaks.

73 duster ac service manual .

If your car was originally an A/C car, as my 74 Dart Sport, I would recommend the Classic Air underhood kit and also replace the original evaporator as it will leak. See my posts in July 2013.

    A/C Compressor needed

If your evaporator is original I would suggest you replace it as it will probably leak (as mine did). Ebay has them. See my posts on my retrofit with Classic Air. On my 1974 Plymouth Satellite (purchased new), the evaporator started leaking after 10 years.

    AC/Heater Box R&R in a 74 Dart

Yes, you will need to depressurize the A/C system and then disconnect the 2 aluminum tubing fittings for the evaporator on the firewall in the engine compartment. You will need to remove the A/C outlet vents assembly (2 screws on the bottom). You will need to remove the glovebox liner to...

Classic Auto Air- Opinions- Experience- Feedback

My Classic Auto engine compartment kit has been fine, see my post back in July 2013. This was for an original factory air car (74 dart sport) and I should have replaced the original evaporator as it eventually leaked.

    72 Duster A/C evaporator

You need to remove the glovebox liner to gain access to the upper bolting and other items on top of the evaporator box; was not necessary on mine to remove the glovebox door as liner collapses. Need to unscrew the drain tube and disconnect the vacuum hoses on the side. Need to remove the bolt...

    72 Duster A/C evaporator

I went through this a year ago on my 74 Dart Sport. I removed heater box to remove the evaporator to pressure test with water and it looked ok. It actually leaked after putting in the R-134a to the system so my advice is to go ahead and buy a new one on Ebay.
