bad boy 273 cid why not

I remember reading about a 64 Wagon in MM running a 273 running 12s. I will dig it up. pretty cool article. The thing was running a 2 brl.

You can check out my project. PM me if you have questions on the engine build.

Matt's doesn't run 12's....it runs 10's.

Any more smart-*** questions???

Yep, Where do you find the size of the engine,
that the NHRA cars are using, I tried to find the info on the current NHRA web site;
they don't make it easy.

Thats what I was talking about when i said "IF you can find one".

Thanks for the photo of the car wheels up!!!

All you can run in that Valiant is a 273....Thats the only V-8 that it came with.

Didn't mean to be quite so harsh, my Texas Ranger fan slipped out a tad with you being from New York and all.............:love7:

I ran a 273 Comando with fenderwells, D4B Hi Rise, 780 dual feed Holley, Mallory dual point ignition in a '64 Barracuda from '70-'73 and blistered the hell out of every thing that got thrown my way except for 3 losses. I raced big and small blocks and every one was amazed it was a li'l ole 273. Now I'm just doing the finishing touches on a /6 to V-8 conversion on another '65 Barracuda. I know I could have slid a 360 in cheaper than what I've spent on the 273 but I think this little package will be a fun drive.

The secret to making the 273 buzz is lots of gear in the butt

There used to be a guy on one of the old email based forums (before there were forums like this) that had a red '64 or '65 Barracuda with a blown 273 that was putting out some crazy amount of power (for a 273). If I remember right, he had well over $10,000 in the motor. Not sure if he's on this forum or not.
