This weekend is the opener of our local track, but also this weekend is one of the largest car shows around here. we had our school nova ready for either and we could choose to go to the track and have a blast, or go to the car show to promote the program. some people at the strip suck. lots of people at car shows suck. i heard things like, is that a mach 1 nova? or what year duster is that? A person cant handle too much of that crap. also the car runs 12.30s and im pretty sure it is the fastest car there. i cant stand people at car shows, if they put as much money into their motors as they did into their diaramas and displays they could have 10 second cars. i saw a guy today with an old bsa dirt bike bring in a bag of mulch and some softball sized rocks for his display.

:wack:

The dragstrip for sure.It was opening weekend at my local track in mission bc, but was canceled because the pit area was still to wet. After getting the cuda on the dyno and tuned I was looking forward to some track time.Car shows can be fun B.Sing with people but as you said others can really try my patience.

I joined a Nostalgia drag racing club and they,re mostly older fellows that have done alot of the work on their cars themselves. They have first hand knowledge on making a car faster and look good doing it.LOL.I find at some car shows people that have bought their cars..turn key.. which they,ve never turned a wrench on.I find it real easy to point these people out, just by asking a couple simple questions about their car.It was our local tracks opening day yesterday, but my car is in the final stages of body/paint so no racing for me.I still had 1 of my other cars out for a nice long drive. It,s been a long cold winter and I voted for the track, lots of shows to go to all summer.:clock::toothy10:

I like both...... but I can stay entertained at a drag strip all day, big car show keeps me interested all day, local shows I usually don't attend, I like going to cruz-in's....... no competition, no worries just hangin out.

I would rather be at Rock Falls then at the car show, but I'm not ready yet. lol

Me 8) Well I would much rather be at our 1/8 mile track today :happy10:
But the rain is on it's way here tonight :angry7: so I took Buddy for a 1 1/2 mile walk just moments ago, know I need to pick up the yard and cover my Generator and compressor so it don't get rained on.
30 mph winds and warm today and more wind fall is hitting the ground
Thank you Canadian Members "Wind Fall" tree limbs falling :-D new word for me :toothy10:

I have done both. For about 3 yrs spent every Saturday night at Huntsville drag strip. Along with that working on car 2-3 times a week to get car ready for track on Saturday. Hard on family life and wallet.... Now we go to local shows and mopar only shows within a 4 hr drive or less, easier on the wallet and more relaxing to be at a car show, drag racing weekly got to be too much like a job (one that you dont get paid for) to me.

Not at my local dragstrip until May 15-16 but I was SUPPOSED to be on my way back from Vegas as we speak... oh well I guess the new job comes before racing out of the country!

Thanks for reminding me... lol

i will! are you apart of gsta?
if not you should join the cogs! we are the most involved in the dragster, lots of fun. it also would be nice to have another mopar person around.

I've got too much on my plate as it is. It would be fun to work on a dragster again. I was on a Top Alchohal Dragster team when I was just outa tech school.

I have a friend that wants me to join the Scavangers. They had a display there also, it was with the "RUDE STUDE"

i think the scavengers are having a car show of their own this year, you should put your duster in it.
