it isnt like she doesnt have 20 other cars to choose from to do that.

I know, right? Never a gal like that when I was doing the courtin thing.

So, along with Boris, she can name a couple "Moose" and "Squirrel".

Thats cool, most girls have 40 pairs of shoes instead :prayer:

LOL who needs shoes when you can have a clutch pedal under one foot and the gas pedal under the other foot........

LOL i really do drive barefoot bcoz you cant drive with heels .....tried that before :wack:

so other girls can have the shoes LOL

so since i got this car i have actually had a lot electrical problems with it .....first mopar i have ever had with electrical problems

i noticed it was always kinda hard to start but since i have had this car for only a few months ....i got it in June but i had to leave the country for a while and i came back on aug 2. so i have only had most of august and september and now october to get to know her ....not even three months

well i checked it with a spark tester and found that it didnt have spark while cranking but it did in the "on" so most of the time i would crank quite a few times and when i let go of the key it would catch and start ...hit and miss but it worked.......well now that its getting colder that is not working so well anymore

last wednsday i drove her home from town parked it and it didnt start on thursday morning after several attempts during the day i realized that this problem needs to be addressed ......well i have not had time to work one her bcoz of other things going on .....

finally yesterday i got time and after about 45 mins of chasing wires and replacing suspect parts i found the problem

the wire from the ignition switch to the bulkhead connector was cooked .....i couldnt see it until i stripped the non-adhesive electrical tape off ......

i replaced the wire and she starts soooooo easy ....its like a completely different car now

i even went out three times during the evening last night after it was cold and started it just to see if it would start easy

It did every time soooooo easy ....im so excited about it now LOL

Mmmmm, nothing like cooked wire. Add a little salsa and they're so tasty.
Nice job on chasing that down. Wiring problems can be a PITA. Did you check your ammeter wiring and the power wire through the bulkhead while you were there?

that one scorched wire would have me thinking i need to do a little bypass surgery with the ammeter and the bulkhead. there is a reason that wire cooked as a result of something that shorted... something you may want to consider Rani. thats great that its working much better now though !

i doubt it will happen again bcoz i have removed a few pounds of wire from this car from Previous owner "moron mods" i double checked the way it is now to the wiring diagram ....but yea i agree ....finding a cooked is a little disturbing and makes you think:mumum:

AAHH, the ole idiot "add a wire" LOL, it is very refreshing to get rid of all that nasty wiring some junior electrician used to hot wire a stereo and god only knows what else lmao :protest: i cant count the miles of wiring i have removed lol

i got tired of the original steering wheel and decided it was time to upgrade to a woodgrain one .....not the best one around but its a woodgrain steering wheel ...i much rather stare at it than the original plain jane one

Wow, what a transformation....a little work and she is a whole new animal :glasses7:

Bye bye grandma car :burnout:

Nice car! I also have a 68 and love them. It seems a bit weird to me everytime I see this thread as I have a daughter named Natasha and a 68 dart in the garage! Keep up the great work.

wow, what are the odds!!!! i would like to know if your Natasha is into cars? i named the car after my twin sister Natasha and she knows absolutely nothing about cars....she does not live with me (lives in a different country) and i rarely see her, i told her i named my car after her and she thought that was an insult at first untill i explained to her that is no average everyday car......(i know some ppl just dont get it LOL) :protest:

but how funny odds can be and its true what they say "fact is stranger than fiction" LOL

My Natasha likes cars! She would like to have an old VW bus like the stoner vans from the 60's but settled for a Mini Cooper. Funny how live gets in the way of what we want to do. My Dart is also a 270 like your's but somewhere along the way someone made it into a GTS clone. Keep posting pictues as we love to see your progress.

Looks good Rani. Whats next?

Ian

next is : gathering parts needed to ditch the slanty .....she is not looking like a slanty car anymore so i really want the sound to go with it...

based on what i have in my barn here.........

i cant decide to go BB .....383 with a 727. OR

a small block .....340 with a 4 speed ........

i am really into 4 speeds but i also like big blocks .....the anwser would be BB 4 speed, but then i would have to spend money i dont have on a BB bell housing and pertinent apparatus.

so without spending a large amount of money and using strictly what i have those are only the options :
340/speed OR
383/727

there are pros and cone to each one

the other thing coming is: i am trying to get ahold of a GTS tail panel ...this car is officially a GTS clone .....and next payday for sure ....a HEMI hood scoop is coming

the engine swap is in the process now but wont actually happen untill christmas break when i dont have to go anywhere during the day...right now this car is my only transportation .....so i need to plan it out so im not walking LOL

340 4-Speed :burnout:

well yea ....but i do have another 68 dart so i wasnt sure if they should match bcoz i was thinking that same setup on the other one too......not sure yet bcoz the other is not as nice as Natasha so i might end up parting that one......decisions decisions
