My car is a 68 notchback Barracuda. It is UU1 metallic blue which is a very light color and has a black interior. Changing the color won't hurt the value as it was a slant six car and it is going to be a 360 V8 car. What I like is the 69 Metallic Turquoise (seafoam?) which looks greenish in bright light and blue in the dark. Keeping it the same would be easy but.... I did see a 67 Barracuda in the equivalent of UU1 shot with an incredible amount of metal flake that really stood out. The owner refused to say who painted it or discuss the formula used to get the effect.

That might have been the same color as my 1st car. 67 Barracuda with dark blue interior and black vinyl top.

I hated the color so it got painted dark metallic blue in 1974, didn't give a sh*t about correct, value or collectability

Hell it was my 1st car, I was 15 who cares

Today if I was making the same decision, it still wouldn't be light blue, I STILL HATE IT, and don't care for the color on my daily driver mustang since it is a light met blue, darker than my 67 cuda, but still a light blue.

I do get a LOT of women that say they love the color

Might make the cuda a chick magnet leaving it the light blue.

What ever you do, do it because you like it, it isn't going to change the value of the car much either way. Will cost more for color change.

When you decide what color to paint it and you want extra metallic in it request that before they order the paint. I have seen many a paint jobs that have extra sparkle because of extra flake . A buddy put ground glass in his paint talk about sparkle.

I really appreciate you all taking the time to answer. It would be easier to NOT change it but it is not the color I would have chosen had I bought it new and it seems like every 67-68 Barracuda I see is this light blue. I love the Seafoam...so.... I found some pics on the internet of a 68 Barracuda in that color and I love it. Did I answer my own question? Anyway, thanks.
