Chevy Guys

There sould be more shops in the area. You got a lot of towns around you.
It's worse up here in the northwoods of Wi. Start asking around with your
Mopar buddies there. Check the so called Mopar dealers around. Maybe one
of the body tech's works on the side?

I wouldda told the guy to $$$$ off and see if he couldda got his brain around that. OmG I'm still having to edit his posts

A restoration shop owner who is a car bigot imagine that here are a few reasons why;

1-Hates mopars since he had his big block *** handed to him by a blown slanty.
2-Hates mopars since his restored chebbys sell for less than a unrestored mopar.
3-Hates mopars since his ole lady cheated on him with a guy that owned a mopar.
4-Hates mopars cause even rusty ones look better than his finished cars.
5-Hates mopars cause they are always the centers of attention.

Poor dumb bastard needs to get a clue, can't be choosey in this economy or you'll fail.

I find it best not to discuss cars out in the public. I've heard enough BS stories to last me a life time. The last guy I talked to was telling me about his factory built 66 340 barracuda that would pull the front tires off the ground......bone stock. I like to tell people I just collect toys.

x2

When I was running a shop I would build anything that someone had the money to pay me. I built a flippin pinto. I was glad to take his money.

Sorry to hear that an ignorant prick killed your buzz..but honestly ignorant people go out of thier way to do exactly what he did..talk down to other people and the main reason in most cases is that they are not happy with themselves..it could be for one reason or many but that doesnt matter my point is as soon as the verbal diharrea comes out of his mouth stop the conversation cause he is just waiting to bring you down to make himself feel better.

I too would not have a problem with any thing [we have built a v8 pinto/v8 toyota corolla ect.], money is green i'm in busness to provide a service for folks and an income for my family doing something i enjoy, being a car bigot just limits your chances of a good reputation in the restoration arena i hate corvettes but i would restore one if asked. Sure mopars are expensive to restore but don't be a hater.

any REAL car guy would just be happy to work on a classic of any kind regardless of what kind of car person you are (mopars are the best though)!

Could not agree more- they all made good stuff and they all made turds. I got my '72 F250 in trade for assembling a guy's sprinkler heads. Had the dreaded FE 'low oil pressure' issue, but for about 1 1/2 of work, it was worth it. Learned- and am still learning-about Ford stuff. Still prefer old Mopars, but the truck is not a complete garbage pile...their is a reason these damn trucks have been best sellers for years

Personally I'm a car guy, every make has numerous models throughout the years that float my boat. The problem with being a Chevy guy, Ford guy or Mopar guy is your head is so far up your *** you can't see that ever make has made something special many, many times.

Hi, my name is John and I own a Chevy....... Please forgive me. I am building a super clean 71 Dart. My 78 Malibu is pro streat and about 600 hp. I know it will put plenty of cars to shame no matter who made it. I built the car myself along with help from my friends the same way I am building this Dart. This is mopar number 5 for me. I hope my chevy doesn't make me narrow minded. I will say I never owned a ford and probably never will. I still have friends that own them, I just dont care for them myself. It's ok to like more than one make, just stand true to the hobby. Please don't kick me out of the family! I'm just sayin...

I knew from the first words out of his mouth he wouldn't be workign on my Duster. I can find a body guy. It just amazes me that he doesn't understand where I am going and why. He restores old cars for fun and profit you would think he could understand passion for a specific car.

Irony, I told some idiot told me "typical Ford!" about our van, and I told him, " Yeah, typical Chevy, always talkin' ****!" that shut him up. This guy is jealous of your Duster, a Shitvelle is so common, it's not even funny.

I always say, people buy chevies for the same reason so many people shop at walmart,,,its cheap junk, and every other one is doing it,,,i love american muscle,,,i just cant stand chevy,,,

a quote from the guy who did all the body work on my barracuda "I'm a mustang guy, always have been. But in the end metal is metal, and brands don't matter to me". Shop around, you'll find someone who'll have a better attitude towards helping you meet your goal with your duster.

i love all old american iron, the only ones i cant stand are chevys,i think there ignorant, arrogant owners have spoiled it for me,chevys to me are like favourites in horse racing,i will always search outside of the favorite for value, don,t want to play the follow the herd type of game ,some people love the security of having something everyone else has,and some like to step outside the square and shoot for something different, better, mopar people are unique i believe,we,ve had a good look at all the old cars that were ever built and sincerly believe mopars are the best, its called passion for our brand, something the herd mentality brand x,s will never get:prayer:

Oshkosh? Wisconsin right? Look up Apex Autosports. the guy who owns it is the son of famed E-body guy and good friend Tommy White. He should set you straight :D

I try to be the "everybody lets just get along" type when it comes to brands... except chebbie. I F'ing hate chebbie guys.

Ford guys ain't "SO" bad, at least they try to be like us (i.e. "Semi-Hemi") lol

im very thankful for the car guys i hang around at home. most are mopar guys be we all like everything. anything cool and fast is ok with us. even if the guy drives a turbo`d honda, as long as he`s a cool dude then it doesnt matter what he drives.

i cant stand when people bash other peoples rides because it isnt exactly like theirs

I have a good one. I have been training a Chevy guy the last couple of weeks at work. He tells me that he doesn't have to use a torque wrench on his motors. He installs his heads with an impact and only adjusts his air pressure in stages of course. LOL I just smiled and said wow.

I would not have that man assembling anything. Just give him a wrench and pb blaster and tell him to take stuff apart.

That was one of the things I'd tell my customers in days gone by. "My paint gun is probably the least prejudiced thing you'd want to meet. It doesn't care about color and doesn't care what the color goes on."

I do have to question this supposed "restoration" guy when he doesn't know what parts are available for what.
