Anyone see the drag pack headers by TTi???? Unreal $2500.00 for a set of headers are u kidding me????? well I guess if you can afford a drag Pack u would pay $2500 for a set of headers,Geez once they have the CAD program for the bender it's a push of a button to make a set,I'm going in the header building business --So what if they are stainless,they should be gold for that price. Steve

They are nuts!! I just made a comment on facebook for a discussion we were having about why drag racing is loosing participants. You spend $7K+ on an engine, $3K+ for a trans and converter, $7K+ on a rolling chassis, $1K+ on tires and wheels, $40 for an entry fee, and $80 in fuel each week to race, and a bunch of things I'm forgetting for only a bracket car. If you win maybe a $500 purse. If I blow up an engine, I personally am done for a year before I can piece something together. I don't mind going out and playing every now and again but I can't justify the time and money every week and I have to have a street legal car even if "Street Legal" is a loose term. I know of too many people who get to sit at home in a lawn chair and stare at their race car on a nice night to go out for a joy ride!!:D
 
they know what they have in R&D and what it will cost to make such a small run, they know they will only sell a very small amount so that is the price to recoup some of the cost.
 
Drag Pak= Hemi = Licence to gouge.

Can anyone tell me why a sand cast intake should cost $1100?

One company has dropped the price on the DP intakes to $799....that's a $400 drop....

While that's a good thing...it proves my point about price points being extreme for Hemi stuff.

If you're REALLY "going into the header=building bidness, I would hope that you design and produce a 6-into-one header for a turbocharged slant six.

NOBODY is building a header for that engine. There's lots of room, flanges are readily available, and design-parameters are pretty-much what you want them to be.

These folks, who would be buying them, are desperate for something that will bolt-on... doesn't HAVE to be "state of the art." Price is negotiable, but $1,000.00 is not unreasonable. We built our own and it cost us that much. Seriously.


Think about it... please...

I have heard that Ed Thomson (85moparkid on FABO was attempting to put together a package deal using a PISHTA-design exhaust system that included a stock cast iron exhaust manifold, a J-pipe and a turbo mount, that would enable a product-user to bolt a turbo onto a slant six with a minimum of hassle.

I found a picture of that setup on PISHTA'S engine, to give you an idea how it could look.

Bear in mind, this picture is of a one-off setup, and after the dust settles and the production units' design is agreed upon, that production unit may or may not look anything like this picture.

It looks like a keeper to me.... I want one!!!! :)
