Weed killer

-
Sad thing is she sprayed hers the same time I did mine. I used round up from Home depot. Of course its working but her weeds died in a couple days....mine are still dying.

Funny to hear you can't get any weed killer in Ontario now , here on the left coast where the tree huggers thrive and the leaf lickers abound we can still get the worst of them all -Round Up , if you still got troubles come August I'll transport some to Moparfest for ya eh !

Thankssssssssssssssssssss

Snake was in your neighborhood 2 weeks ago. Took the ferry from Kingston to Wolf Island and another ferry to the USA. Drove 11 miles to a TSC store and bought a gallon of roundup for $9.99 ( $35.00 here ) and Ortho weed killer with 2-4-D for $7.99 ( not available here ). Borders are Federal and the ban on weed killer is Provincial.
If it is ok for the golf courses and farmers here, its ok for me.

Yup C/P like I said I have tried the ones I mentioned, their ok I guess if you have a small yard and keep at it. I don't like yard work:violent1:, lately I just have been pouring my used up gun wash on the weeds in my driveway & it works awesome :thumleft:

Our province banned all the normal carcinogenic herbacides and brought out a new group of carcinogenic herbicides..and now call themselves "environmentally friendly " province.....there is nothing "friendly" with crap that you have to post a "do not" sign on your lawn...

What my neighbours do is buy across the border and apply at night..who are they fooling with that stench ? Mono culture is never pretty and you have to keep feeding the grass tons for it to stay alive. If you see clover, that is a good thing..

BTW, that stuff kills animals and there is now a direct correlation to diseases and pesticides...btw, if your lawn is healthy (ie - you don't use tons of chemical fertilizer) many of the ills that beset other lawns will avoid yours... bugs and weeds will migrate to their best environment..

Corn Gluten (hi Pro) is probable the best to use but it is expensive, tricky to install and takes a couple years to work.

High temp steam works.. but acidic acid (buy from a chemical company) is quite effective..

I tried the 1 gallon vinegar, 2 cups Epsom salt and 1/4 cup dawn dish soap as weed killer over round up

It didn't do a thing. So a few weeks later sprayed with round up within a couple days it was yellowing and now DEAD.

Now back to the regularly scheduled weed killer subject

I like that.

I go to our co-op and get Triplet. On gallon mixed will do 1.5 acre. Put it on in the morning, weeds are wilting by evening. Doesn't hurt grass.

the above statement is incorrect !
please list all deadly carcinogenic herbacides available to the public in Canada and U.S.A.
are you sure it's not noxious weeds killing the animals

Creeping Charlie is the worst. I had it as well years ago and sprayed my whole lawn...every stitch of grass was dead...DEAD..it still came back. It is the root system that plant has that makes it a bad one to get rid of.
I find in the spots were it comes back if it starts to flower put them fast....even if you cant get the weed out at least remove the flower to stop them from spreading.
Good luck Snake I feel your pain LOL

We have a county extension office to help with
questions like these here in Ohio.
They are up to date on all things ag related and
are very helpful to farmer and gardner alike.
Maybe you have something similar in your area,
we also have large college ag departments that
will answer these type questions.
Just some suggestions that might be helpful.

Look it up yourself..you have a computer...or walk on one of the lawns that has the big "stay off" or "do not walk on lawn for 3 days" signs and read the label...you cannot miss them..they are 8.5 * 11..

Yeah, I can see dogs and cats running around eating lethal weeds..
