Get outside and look at the Moon!!!

-
Maybe if we all looked at it at the same time, it would be like we were all together...

Just like in Joe Dirt....

Get outside and check out the moon, it's awesome!!! I'm at the cabin tonight sitting lakeside by a fire roasting hotdogs :glasses7:

I took some pics but can't post them right now, but it's a clear night and the moon lights the whole place up nice, reflection over the water is really pretty :D

Oh.

...and here I thought you were just being perverted. Sorry! :dontknow:

It sure is a beautiful almost full moon night Keith and Karel, and everyone here, I took the time to go for a drive and just look at the country side all lit up.
Then I called creed to see what he was doing tonight and sure enough he was playing on main street tonight and I drove up and watched him play and sing :glasses7: what a great time  I de-stressed and I will sleep like a baby tonight.. funny how the moon can wake up our spirits :glasses7:

............JUST enough trace of mist in the air to preclude good sharp photos. Rained all day today, sposed to clear up "on and off" next few days. Maybe I'll get some good shots,

I hope so, you take great pictures Del :glasses7:

Supposed to be a lunar eclipse tonight, think it will happen between 2-5 am central time, supposed to also be red, heard it was red yesterday and being called a "blood" moon

I will be sleeping so I hope someone can snap some cool pics!!!

It just snowed here and the sky is foggy. Not a good night for pictures from here....

There is a lunar eclipse tonight... Starts at 10:30 Mtn time.... 340sedan is an hour ahead and further into his timezone than us.

GREAT PICS ! Dart273... Your lakes up there are reminiscent of northern MN lakes..minus the bugs..lol

That's not far off. There's a way to "stack" images, but I can't do that. I cannot find it, anymore, but some folks built a thing they called (I think) a "shotgun" which uses what THEY are calling "cheap lenses" about 4 ganged together on 4 sensors which are then combined into one "better" image.

The problem (I'm not that smart) with stacking the moon is that it moves fairly fast.

Didn't get a think worth saving, last night. At the start, things were a bit inconvenient because of the neighbor's trees, but I should have got a shot or two. When it was red, there was no way I could deal with it.

Later on, haze came along and obscured things badly.

I am hoping to see wifey moon in the bedroom tonight, and I don't even have to go outside!! LOL

Great big moon came up, "socked in" in the haze / fog / light clouds

Caint see the m'effer here cause of all the clouds.

Canon 30D, 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM, ISO100, f/4, 1/1000 sec. I think my wife may have manually focused this one, cause AF wasn't getting it done and her eyesight is better than mine.

I wish I had a 2x teleconverter (or a few); I had enough headroom light-wise that I could have made good use of it.

I sat out on the deck last night at about 9:30 till the news came on at 10:00
Unbelievable how bright and full the moon was.

That lens (I have one) does excellent with either a 1.4 or 2X converter. Don't scrimp. Buy the Canon converter (extender). I got a 2X used, I think I paid about 150 for it. New ones now are 450. That combo is nearly as good, is some cases "as good" as t he 10-400L lens which I also own. You should seriously consider finding yourself a used 40D, at least. They have magnified "live view" which makes this kind of focusing much much easier. I was astounded at how cheap used 40Ds have become. (I had two) I sold one to a friend of mine, and soon learned you can find them for as little as 300 bucks

Might have explained why my dog was going nuts all night. She was growling and barking all night. She never does that.. Damn moon!

A new camera body is quickly moving up my short list of toys. Not sure what I'll end up with, though.
