have a set 4323302 fast burn-or maybe swirl port heads to use on 5.2 with large cam and 8.5 compression any comments? mopops
 
They have pretty small ports and small valves. Not sure that they will perform very well with a very large cam
 
They will help the low compression but with a large can it will be a gut on the low end what are the can specs?
 
Should you port them, and they will port out quite well, they will perform really really well.
 
Get some Magnums. EQ's are going to make far more power than '302's. If the 302's are all you have then you need someone that can work them. J.Rob
 
Use them as is or ported. On a 318 they will work well.
 
I run them with very mild port & chamber work & larger valves on my 318 w/ an XE268 which isnt that big, but you don't call out your cam specs. I'm very pleased with the combo.
 
Let me preface this by saying I'm not a fan of 302 heads (except in cruisers and tow vehicles).

With a "big cam" they will suck big time (especially with 8.5:1 compression). The ports are tiny, and they are made for efficiency, not power. If you want power, then you will want another head. With a "big cam" you car will be a dog off the line...be prepared to have humble pie served to you by every Camaro and Mustang you see, because it will be slow.

If this is just a cruiser, get a relatively small cam and you should be fine...JMO.
