I'm finally ready to get my tires!! I have a set of 15" Cragars for my 72 Dart.

I want to give it the right stance with the front a little lower.

It still has the stock 195/60r14s all around and I dropped the front down on the bumpers.

My thoughts are to put a taller tire in the front and raise it a little to pull away from the bumper, then put maybe a 225/60 in the back, if it will fit, to bring the back up.

The pic of the '68 has the stance I want.

Which combination of tires is best to maintain the proper "muscle car" stance?

Thanks.

I do like the stance and tire/wheel combo of the '68 Dart you posted up. But asking for "the proper muscle car stance" is going to get you a vast array of different opinions. You might be better off finding out what guys are running on specific cars that you like.

It's not so much the tires needed but the suspension set-up.

Shouldn't have a problem with 225s as I run them all around. One thing I done to get a '70s "muscle car stance" was to use a set of Hi-Jacker air shocks but many frown upon it. My old combo with the shocks was 195/60 fronts, 215/60 rears on 14" Keystone Klassics.

The muscle car stance is whatever you want it to be. Here's mine.

Do you happen to have any pictures of your car with this tire combo?

I have plenty, it had that combo for a year or more. Heres a decent one (with traction bars).

I have 195/60/14s in the front, and 245/60/14s in the rear on my '68. The 245s cleared the stock springs and the fenders had to be rolled about 1/2" to keep from scraping during body roll.

Nice looking car Keegan. Not to hijack, but your traction bars are way out of adjustment, and they are doing nothing the way you have them installed. To do any good, adjust them so that the snubbers are firmly planted against the leafs. This will help prevent wheel hop and axel twist! Don't feel bad, it's a common error, and I don't mean to be rude or anything

Thanks, Yeah I know try're not totally right. I already pulled them off for kicking over and eating up two nearly new 215s. I just ran them as a '70's piece to keep with my street machine theme. Can't run them until I put a taller tire on my wheels anyhow (225/50/15s now).

Thank you all for the input. Now I have some things to think about. I'll post some pictures later when I get my tires. Thanks again.

This is a little closer to the Dart you posted. Its sitting on 225/50/15 Kumhos (15x7 wheels).

They are not suppose to touch at rest. Those are too far out but they do not touch. They should be like a half an inch or so from the leaf.

Don't let the wheel selection throw you off. 15s out back 17's up front. but the car does lean forward. when I get it back out of storage in the spring I plan to lower the front a little more like 1/4". I have a little adjustment left on my torsion bars.

I guess you're right for a street car, but I wouldn't go more than 1/4". On a competition car, bring em up to where they touch.
