I am considering a rear line lock to lock the rear brakes. I have an auto transmission of coarse. My question is: when your at a light stopped and you activate the line lock, it will lock the rear brakes that have pressure on them right? This causing the brakes to roast while doing a burn out? How would one go about locking the rears at a light without possibly burning out the brakes? My guess is to stop at the light, than release the pedal, flick the switch or hold switch and step on the brake quickly again so you don't roll into traffic and then roast the tires! Is this the correct way? Basically I'm looking for suggestions on how you guys are actually using your REAR BRAKE line locks.

rear brake line lock???

line lock usually goes on the front brakes for a rwd car anyway..

you operate it by hitting the brakes then holding the switch for the line lock then ys let off the brakes. this releases the brakes from the non line lock brakes and keeps the line lock brakes on.

I like to use a line lock on my fishing pole so the big one won't get away while I'm having a snack.

Wilwood has a valve that stops the brake pressure from reaching the back brakes. Is that what you mean?

guys are actually using your REAR BRAKE line locks.

IF THE linelock is plumbed to the rear section of the master cylinder, that normally feeds the FRONT brakes. As "everybody" has said above ^^ you want the linelock in the FRONT brakes

READ my signature below:

The question is, "who told you" or "where did you get" the idea that a linelock goes in the rear brakes?

Line locks can be used two ways.

Tapped into the front, push down firmly on the pedal and push and hold the button, release the pedal and roast away.

It can also be tapped into the rear brake but works the opposite way.

Push the button to stop fluid flow to the rear brakes and hold the front brake with the brake pedal while doing your burnout

I have my unit plumbed into the rear brake line and its mounted above the diff right beside where the brake hardline meets the flex line to the diff housing, you have to reverse the line connections . I did it this way so as I could 'cut out the rear brakes' what this allows me to do is pull up foot off brake, press and hold LL button, re apply brakes firmly, spin up rear wheels and at that point I can either just sit there on the front brakes or, ease off the brake peddal and do a slow rolling burnout under brake control, then when Im done just release the LL button and Im back to full braking. works great for me both on the street and strip. And its not in the engine bay, its out of sight out of mind
