Bloomer Performance

-
I am now just starting to get back into the motor phase of the project. I am accumulating data so I have a better understanding of what my choices are. I am shooting for 700Hp on 92 octane pump gas naturally aspirated. His 4.25" crank is of interest, and I like the progression of his thinking but his heads may not do the trick. I do not know. In the mean time here is what I have compiled on small block heads.

There's a problem with your cylinder head list. It is somewhat out of date.

Edelbrock Performer can be ported out to suite the need. But I don't know about "700hp" levels. I haven't heard of anyone getting there. Probably the most inexpensive to build and run.

Brodix B1BA shows max ported values so porting prices on top of an already expensive head. Not a route I'd take with those heads. Not enough cfm I think

BPE is not doing the heads .... yet????

MoPar Super Comando heads are no longer produced. You may yet find them on e-bay IF the seller knows that they ARE indeed the head advertised and not the regular Comando.
Not enough cfm for think.

Air Wolf head is no longer available.... & for a long time now.

W5. Some sets still float around. The values are shown are MAX values that are achieved by only the best porters.
And that is only attainable IF the W5 head is a good casting. Even the so called better casting suffer from poor casting techniques and can not be ported that far.
There also a inferior aluminum that does not lend
Itself to be welded. Epoxy it s your only answer. NOT that it is a bad answer, just the only one.

Both Indy heads are also showing max ported efforts. Purchase them from a head porter here all ready done. You'll save in the long run. Dealing with Indy has only resulted in a lot of pissed off people screaming about how bad Indy customer service is truly the worst in the world.

Also! Be reminded of the added or different rocker arm expense between a stock replacement type head (AKA Edelbrock and the further removed from stock heads.)

Added thoughts and spelling.

Rumblefish, that is why I started here, thanks. I will make corrections.
OK so who here should I inquire of for the Indy heads?
What values should I give to the Edelbrock heads?
The oiling column is in regards to rockers as well.
What other heads should be on the list, and where can I get the values?

W-7-8-9. The W9 should still be available.
Missing? Brodix B1BA-MC & Edelbrock Victor heads. Look into the Victors.
(The W-5 does not have the extra head bolts as listed. It the same head bolt pattern as the W2 or Edelbrock head. And the same off set rockers as the W2.)

The W2/5 oils through the pushrods. At the this very moment (just before pizza hits the table...) I can't remember if the Indy or Brodix oils through the pushrod but that's easy to look up at there site.

Contact Brian, IMM here @ FABO in Indo California as he is closest to you.

OK, chow time!

W5 doesnt have to pushrod oil. I ran them with the Erson rockers standard oiling, just like a production head.
Then ran then with bushed lifter bores and Jesel sportsmen rocker gear and pushrod oiled.
Work fine either way.
