!!!BUY THIS BOOK!!! ??

The reason I have never touched the innards of a TorqueFlite is because every operation seems to call for a special tool "this" and a special tool "that". At least that's how it was when I was contemplating a GM AT rebuild years ago (mini-blazer).

Not really. You just need to improvise. A couple of "C" clamps and some sockets will go long way. It's not the ideal way but it is the shade tree way and it can be done.

Thanks for ordering them. I still have around 10 or so extras here.
No worries at all with working over one. Have the handy shop manual close for added specs if needed and you can handle it! I bet they are easier then the AODs.
I received my copy earlier this week. Great book. I really was impressed with the quality and the amount of photos.
I consider myself quite knowledgable on both versions of the torque flight, but I still learned quite a bit from this book. I appreciate the time and effort spent explaining all the variables that affect the 2-3 shift.
Good Job

.............LOL.............Now all I need is a good "motivational" book to go along with

67, my motivation was doing it all under your own control or trusting others that may or not be able to let you watch all the steps. I guess its fun to have control of your own destiny and that truly is a good motivational factor!

@VOETOM what's your preferred method of purchase? Direct from you or via Amazon?

Hi Joe, I have only around ten extra that I bought. I think amazon gets $29.35 or so but the ones I have, to cover shipping and envelope and purchase price, will cost $30.00 to anywhere in the continental USA. Thank you for asking.

Since a Sharpee costs only a dollar and a signature requires only minimal ink, how about free? . Seriously, it’d be an honor.

WOW so at least 3 from this very site are involved in that book? Anybody else LOL?

I let Tom copy off my paper when we took the final exam in Automatic Transmission Repair at Longview Community College. Lol. And the rest is history. What do you guys think about a guy that wrote " the book" on torqueflights, but has a 4 speed in his 'Cuda. What's wrong with that guy?

Yep, and my pal Mark's (2205) 69 340 Cuda is one of the ones we played with to find out the errors in our ways! And I think it was not I copying off your paper, it may have been the other way!

Any plans for a digital version from car tech books. Would be nice to have it on my tablet.

I made sure to stop in the CarTech booth a SEMA. The gentleman in the booth was very familiar with Tom and his Dad.

Said there was so much good stuff in the book, it ended up a little longer that planned. I thanked him for that.

I made sure to mention the discussion and buzz online about the book and the following Tom has.

Just bought a copy tonight....BEFORE I read this thread....LOL
Sure sounds like a good one.....I need all the help I can get..... :)

And it's even more cool that Tom is a member here. There's a lot of talent here at FABO.

Mine came last week, very informative book.

Got my autographed copy from Tom last week and read it every time I go to the Library. Thanks very much Tom it is very good reading so far and the inscription was spot on. Couldn't be happier and by the way Tom I finally made it home from rehab. Thanks, Brian

Got my copy from Tom. So far I have only read the history section but I agree, a great book with lots of detailed pictures.

My copy came in last week and I've perused through it a few times now. This is a very well-thought out and helpful book....better than anything else I've seen for these transmissions over the past 40 years.
Good job, Tom.

Surpisingly I received my copy 2 days ago!! After Amazon said January 2018! This book is well worth the money & any transmission enthusiast would be well advised to have a copy in the garage. The layout is fantastic! Plenty of detailed color photos, separate chapters dedicated to valve bodies, tooling, sub components, torque converters & performance upgrades. It is highly detailed with sheds full of additional information not found in an FSM. Thank you Tom & all who contributed to this excellent piece of technical literature!!

Thanks for writing this book Tom,I'm rebuilding my first Torqueflite right now with your book as my guide. It is very well written and easy to follow. Worth every penny!

Just got my January issue of Hemmings muscle machines, They did I real nice article on Tom's book.
Congrats Tom word has gotten out!
