Hello!

I've been lurking for quite a while and finally decided to show myself. I've been a mopar guy since the manger, but I was always a B body guy. As it turned out, the price of a decent late 60's 2-door B body grew so fast not even a miracle could put one in my price range.

Eventually, I fell in love with the A-bodies too and I am now the savior of a tired old 67 barracuda.

Most any question have been answered through searches and I am greatly appreciative of the knowledge shared on these boards. Thank you to all who take the time to share.

Same here. In my young days, I owned a 69 383 RR 4 speed, a70 440-6 RR 4 speed/ Dana, a 64 Dodge "440" street 426, and a race only Barracuda for a little while. I wanted another B but PRICES!!! So now I have an old Dart. It's still torn apart, but I like it!!

Welcome. Had a '69 R.R....sadly ,lost it. A '67 Cuda notch rolling shell ,got me excited about Mopars again.
Best of luck , ask questions, and be interactive.

Well if Jesus caint afford a B body, I reckon is **** outta luck.

I have a mixture of B, C, E, and A body cars

I can say first hand, the A-body cars are superior. A B-body is a boat, barely fits in one of my little sheds and is hard to see out of on the road. The A-body cars like my Driver 68 dart are so easy to manage because they are sized just right and you can still put a 383 them. A-body cars run good with any engine of the era from a slant six to 440.

They are easier to find parts for and priced a lot better. Just as exciting if not more exciting than any other car line.

Several years ago, I had a couple 68 chargers, drove it for 2 years .....I don't see the hype. Cant even see out of a charger with those huge sail panels, you might as just close your eyes when changing lanes. I have more fun driving my slant six dart than I ever did with any charger.

A-body cars rock.

Rainy, in,agreement. That lighter chassis , required less maintenance ,than a heavyweight.. If you understand, my concept. Lightweight cars / trucks , wear out parts,,at a slower rate.

Just like the A's, Rani you need bigger T bars and springs. My old 70 sure didn't handle like a boat. Even I liked it better after I jacked up the seats. I found some "junk" needle roller bearings and used them as spacers for the seats. Seems like I got nearly 3/4". One mine, the seat studs were quite long. I just liked it that way, and I'm no short, 5'11

I like the A bodies, no mistake, they are faster, lighter and generally have better looks. (to me) The fastest of all the mopar cars, are the 68 hemi barracudas and darts. But the 66-67- belvedere bodies were some of the best ever made for looks and strength in a uni body. I had two w/ body twisting hemi`s in them .

Ahhhh, you just need a phone book to sit on while driving one. ;)
And I don’t care what anybody sez cause I really like my E-body Cuda

Welcome !! I too like many on here have had their share of B bodies. I do love the 68-9 RR and Bees, The 68-70 Chargers, I have had many before they got high. Way over rated and I agree they can be hard to see out of. All the rear sheet metal ( 5 layers) was welded together at the factory. Not a easy car to restore.
Since thee old cars are just my hobby, and I retired poor! I personally cannot justify the price for any B body. I do love the early B's 62-65. But prices for them abd pats are high also.
Yes hard to beat an A body!!!
I do like some things about my 79 Volare. A little bigger and heavier version of a Duster. Yes, cheap!!!!!
Did I mention I like cheap!!! lol

E's are NOT friendly to me. small pieces of 2x4 duct taped

Wow, I had no idea you are so tall, I saw the pic of you on your weird bike thingy and you didn't seem that tall but I can see why B-bodies fit you.

I am 4'8" and I had a 70 Sport Fury and I couldn't see out of the car worse than the 68 charger, so I traded the Fury for a 69 dart.......SOOOOO much better fit. I did find that bucket seats sit slightly lower than a bench. The dart had a bench originally and with the bench I had a straight line of sight right above the dash.....then I put buckets in and they are just little lower so I had put a pillow (or two) to get the same line of sight over the dash that I had with the bench.

the last pic is the VERY roomy B-body interior of my 68 coronet. :)

I love the blocks duct taped to the pedals. You go girl!

I had an aunt that was bout Rani's size. She bought herself a new VW Bug in the late 60's. S he could barely reach the pedals but sat on a pretty plumy pillow! She could shift those gars tho!
