Pretty simple question i think

1. How much are complete 340 engines worh. How much are you guys in the US paying for them that is.
2. Same question for a complete engine but has no intake or exhust manifolds.

Assumin the engine is a 71 -73 allthough im not sure.

I sold a running 340 for $1200 a couple of years ago. It was a 68 block and X heads. I sold it as a good rebuildable engine.

Cast crank 340's are bringing more than that now

72-74 engines are less desirable because of the lower compression, smaller valve heads and usually a cast crank. The pistons will be replaced and the heads redone (usually with some porting and larger valves) so a lot of that doesn't come into play.
A flip of the coin whether you just get a block and add your aluminum heads, intake, crank and the rest. Although having a complete engine with timing cover, hardware, brackets etc is a good idea. You may not use much of it depending on what you are building. Just food for thought.

For cores - depends on the condition and parts... For a running, complete example (minus the air cleaner, but with manifolds) anything pre'72 will probably be in the $1500+ area. Anything 72 or later about half that. For running, non-rebuilt examples.
