Some of you know I been looking for a pickup. Didn't want OHC V engine, and a 4 whanger in most any "mid size" is puny. What this boils down to, after you eliminate the Triton and it's problems is a hemi or an LS/Vortec Chev/GMC. I drove an 11 Hemi the other day and didn't like it at all, huge, bloated, stupid shifter design, complicated menu-dash. This thing feels lighter, more nimble. "We'll see" I guess

So............tomorrow afternoon I'll be 14K poorer. 04 GMC Sierra, heated leather seats, been garaged, 89K miles, really REALLY nice, and one owner

Looks like a nice one, Del!

And FWIW, the 5.4 Ford two valve engines are pretty good. It's the three valve engines that really suck. You still are comin out better with the Chevy though.

After having my 2006 Silverado company truck since it was brand new, I won't say one bad thing about Chevy/GMC trucks. I had a Ford before that, and the Chevy rides MUCH better. Nice truck, and congrats!

Wow, nice truck. I have an 06 2500 HD 4x4 with a duramax and Allison 6 speed auto. 1 thing I will ad that if the motor is a 6 litre be prepared for single digit gas mileage. Kim

^^No, 5.3, Vortec/ LS. The engine access appears MUCH better/ easier than on a hemi ram. The newer they get, the further they are buried back under the cowl

Nice truck ! but I thought you just bought a truck. How many do you need ? lol

I'm actually going to have "some less." This whole deal started trying to reduce the "fleet." I WANTED a midsize, but they have all gotten bigger/ fatter/ taller/ heavier/ less mileage and more expensive, until "ya might 's well buy a full size"

I don't need a car anymore, so the much hated blue 95 Olds is goin. The mini-whale, the fixed up was-a-junker Dakota is goin. And most of the Dakota project crap is goin.

The "new" 01 diesel replaces the White Whale III. I wanted a big cab and a stick. I wasn't gonna buy a diesel.

So the "newest" Jimmy replaces 2 vehicles, the grey whale is for heavy towin' and haulin. And to tell ya the truth, I enjoy driving that thing, I did so on today's trip. Comfortable, the cruise works excellent, and it drives as good as anything new. I almost wish I'd bought "it" in 4x4

Do you do embroidery?

No those are previous plates. The guy who has it has some sort of supply company in that line Not too sure what all they do. He's done pretty fair judging from his house--up on "snob hill" LOL

It will have a mundane handicap plate on there. I cannot walk very far anymore, and "it helps."

Nice truck. Easy to replace spark plugs, and there is only 8.
30 minutes to pull intake if a vacuum leak develops. Water pumps are a little expensive but easy to do. Pull wheel tubs to get at exhaust manifold bolts or upstream 02 sensors. All easy compared to the other 2.

They are darn good trucks! Im on my 4th GM truck in 30 years and truly like them!

Pretty truck, I wish you the best of luck with it.
My little sisters basically started self-destructing before that amount of miles.
She is super easy on trucks, puts a blanket in the bedliner, whenever she hauls anything.
She bought the last lemon new.
At 37K the rear end went out, right out of warrantee.
One front wheel bearing left her stranded on the NY/NJ boarder on a holiday weekend at 60K.
The last straw was the trans went out at about 90K, she had it fixed and traded it for a Toyota.
She said she was done with the un-reliable build quality in the newer Chevys.
She was a die-hard chevy girl, but that last truck she said never again.
FYI she also has a S10 that has over 300K on and will not part with it. And she gave me her last S10 that that she wrecked at 200K I fixed it and ran it some more.

Me too, driving a 2001 Silverado 1500 with only 105K on it but its been lugging around a 1000lb L90 service body its whole life. Driveshaft bearing and fuel pump were the only major service parts. Front end is getting a little noisy....but runs like a top. Wife loved our 98 Suburban, Drove smooth and quiet. Dual core heater and paint started to go south so we traded it for a 70K mile '94 Lex LS400 (and a G!) ) from a guy with a cabinet business who was looking for a work vehicle. That LS was awesome, had to look at the tach to tell if it were running from inside.
I drove a newer Ford van and a newer Chevy van. Didnt like either, especially the Fords small steering wheel or faster ratio steering, something felt wrong with it coming from a Chevy. My oldest was a white 318 Dodge van, complete beater but its short wheelbase and the fact that it had body dings everywhere made for a fun drive down narrow alleys blasting through low hanging trees and brush.

Nice truck Del. My 01 has 320,000 miles on it only thing that has been replaced is the water pump and the hydro boost hoses. Nice score

Well, already unbolted the passenger seat, "exploratory" LOL. Explorin lifting the driver's seat that is. I'm 5'11, but I don't like sittin low especially in a pickup. Unfortunately the two front fasteners are studs. We'll see how this goes.

One problem is, when you raise the power seat, only the seat raises, not the back..........so the lumber "thing" gets out of proportion.

With the vast difference in persons, manufacturers should make it easy to block seats up, a kit maybe
