I picked up a 65 Barracuda just for the 8.75 rear. Well I've pulled it so now I am ready to part out the rest of the car. No engine or trans, no front seats.

Now for my question. I am looking for websites that are consistent with the market for pricing. I don't want to over price the parts but I also am not quite ready to give them away either. I have searched FABO and most of the stuff is hit and miss, ebay(joke) and other misc sites.

No Title
SN 52731564 ??
Vinyl top option
Auto w/ floor shift
Manual brakes
Manual steering
1964 tail lights w/ optional backup
Metal dash pad

Cheers,
Artie

P.s. the ferns are not for sale.

Why not just sell the whole car?

I could, but I know as soon as I list it 64-65s will come calling for parts. Majority of the lower fenders are rusted through. A lot of good upper metal, frame, engine compartment ect..

Are you ready to part the car out? As soon as the ad for parts is posted the flood gates will be open. Not only will you have to disassemble the car but snap photos, communicate with dozens of buyers at once, box up the parts for shipping estimates, communicate again, send the parts out, and follow up with the payments and the shipping. etc And that's for each part you sell. It depends how ambitious you are. Parting out cars isn't for the faint of heart.

Fully agree with toolmanmike- it’s why I suggest selling whole.

I have. 66 formula S I’m stripping possibly this weekend. I’m striping it, then crushing it. Rotted beyond belief. If I see someone looking for something in wanted section then I will email them thru PM. Also storage of said parts until sale is tougher than parking a whole car for some.

When I part out a car I usually post the parts one at a time. That way you're not overwhelmed with multiple inquires.
If you're separating structural parts that takes a lot of time. Or sell as a parts car. Less money but not a lot of time spent.

Lee, I like the idea of selling piece by piece that would allow time to pull parts at my rate. Do you have a point of reference for pricing used parts?

Parting is indeed hard work, but I have never had this much fun.

As the car salesman says, It's what ever the market will bear. From the pics the body looks like it has a lot rust. Concentrate on glass,
trim and interior. 64-66 Barracuda side glass is unique to those cars.

Oviously you canmake more money parting it out . But then you have to add in your time . There''s someone out there that wants to make a gasser or AFX car that will buy the whole car . I know one thing , the glass is worth a lot .

best way to price is to search like parts here on FABO that are marked sold, that will give you a basis. experience selling is the best education. your not going to get top dollar for every part. I price what I think is reasonable. think of yourself buying parts and wanting value for the money you spend.

You didn’t touch on the parts that will be in demand, so I’ll highlight a few here. Things like the rear window interior plastic trim corners, the rear seat hinge covers, the drivers side fresh air box under the dash, the V8 gas pedal assembly, the V8 center link, A pillar mouldings if they’re plastic, all of these items are good money, and difficult to remove and not break if they’re plastic, that’s why they’re in demand. Also remember that when you remove a suspension part like the center link, it in effect immobilizes the car, sonit would need to be close/on a trailer. I would buy the trans crossmember if it was available.

As for pricing it depends on condition - anything with good shiny chrome; bumpers & tail lights, could be worth $100 each maybe a bit more.
As mentioned some interior pieces usually sell well but I’m not sure what a good price is.
If I were you I would be happy to get the rear axle and I would just sell the whole car.
You might want to sell a few items that are easy to remove and ship but otherwise just let it go.
