Drag week is going good, but I need a little help. Car just went 10.54 but only 119 mph, should be 129-130 range.

414 small block with B1SC Procharger 9 lbs of boost, Cope racing 904, Ultimate 5,000 stall converter

Wondering why it’s falling off on the big end. Somethings wrong bc it’s gone 128 before. Getting full 9 lbs of boost, air fuel good

Is 10.5's the expected E.T. ?? Does the car feel like it's pulling at the big end?? If it feels like it's pulling the whole way through, then I question the MPH being accurate. It is hard to run 10.5's at 119 mph. Usually that would be a 10 flat car that got out of it early or had troubles at the big end.

When you lose MPH like that it's a horsepower thing...stating the obvious.

That said, look at ignition, fuel, plugs...something that can hurt power. It's not a hook thing. Is there a chance the blower can still make boost but have issues? I'm not very familiar with that style of blower.

That's where you need to start looking. Also, I've seen mufflers fall apart inside and jack everything up.

The car should go 10.30s at 129 mph. It’s been 128 at bowling green. The car doesn’t feel like it’s falling on its face, but not sure how it’s supposed to feel.

If you could post the E.T. slip, that would tell where the car is falling off. It has to 1/8 mile like a super stock eliminator to get 10.5's at 119 mph.

Plugs and fuel are good. Replaced ignition cap and rotor bc there was a little corrosion. Timing looks good. I can start looking at boost and have newer mufflers, but will check those as well

Forgot to take a pic before

I forgot to get a pic before I turned it in today, but this is from test and tune, same issues. Running consistent 60 ft, mph, and 1/8 mile ET

Is the RF gage staying steady through the traps or is it getting lean? Like running out of fuel?..

The other though I just had in maybe the converter took a dump. Sometimes they will stall and still eat MPH.
^^ this. The converter may be suspect here. Transmission too. Your 1/8 mile speed looks good for a 10.30 pass. But you didn't even gain 20 mph at the big end.

I was having similar thoughts, but it’s a brand new purpose built converter from Lenny at Ultimate

Reputable converters. But any parts, especially performance parts, are subject to fail. Same with the tranny. But you are only gaining approximately 16-18 mph the last 1/8. If your boost is holding, and your fuel is holding, the car isn't breaking up do to electrical, then something isn't allowing the power to transfer to the tires. That leaves the converter/transmission suspect. Obviously, this is troubleshooting from a website... LOL. Good luck, and best of luck the rest of the event

I would check the trans fluid level too (along the thought lines of converter going south)....If not that, is it possible that your blower belt is slipping (I'm not real familiar with blowers)? Is the boost where you expect it?

You look good through the 1/8th mile for ET & MPH, then your are off about 1-2 tenths and 8-10mph at the 1/4.

Aright... talked to Ultimate. Going to try running a thicker transmission fluid like tractor hydro guard.

Hmmmm. It didn't need the thicker oil before now. Just saying...I hope like hell it works.

Converters are like high maintainence women. You got to handle them with care. And still, every now and then you get bit in the *** by them.

I think the ProCharger blowers are gear driven. That's why they hate tire shake.

I'm no help, but blower belt slipping came to my mind first.
Saw you 10.54 pass on video. They had a close up of your rear 1/4 glass sticker, I need one of those. Good luck!

I’m not a power adder guy yet but isn’t that a pretty High stall for a power adder car. Are you sure your not driving through it.

I thought about that too. But, it seems it's an issue that cropped up. Not something that started with the new converter.

Converters are tricky business. Clutches are much more simple.

But I think the car has gone 128 mph, so whatever it is, it wasn't the problem "earlier". That's why I think either converter or tranny is starting to fail. He is going to try thicker tranny fluid, but if it didn't need that before, why now would be my question.

What was the mph? Looks like its still in the teens. yes?

Joe, did you ge to see Brian Slowe's run? Black Turbo Omni.

When I am not mistaken the last (second) run was a 10.81 @ 114.23mph.
Sadly loosing speed each run...

Anyway, @Cody, keep going at it!
