While I was pulling out my 65 interior for refurbishment I found a partially complete broadcast sheet for my car. I'm having a hard time decoding even the simple codes. It's way too faded for a photo to show up, I already tried. But on the third row from the top of the sheet it says BUILD CODES then it says ENGINE and PINION. Under engine it's missing the first letter but the last two are 12. Under pinion the numbers are 56. What do those mean? On that same line it says under #63 which is shocks it says A. What does that mean? Is there a website to figure out how to decode all this?

I can probably help you. Can you PM me the vin# and a readable picture of the fendertag?

Thanks to Club member Bob Harris for providing the following additional information, to which he credits an original 1966 Chrysler Parts Catalog for the 1966 Passenger Car, Chrysler part number 81-690-0678:

Valiant/Barracuda/Dart models ("A-body" cars) were built at Hamtramck, Los Angeles and St. Louis plants. Hamtramck was the only plant building the Valiant Signet convertible (VH27), the Barracuda (BP29), and the Dart convertible (LH27and LP27).

The Hamtramck plant built all Valiant, Barracuda, and Dart model types; Los Angeles and St Louis built all but those three model types just mentioned.

All Hamtramck sequence numbers start at 500001 (for theValiant/Barracuda/Dart models only), and the Los Angeles and St. Louis plant sequence numbers start at 100001, as do all other passenger cars built at the Hamtramck plant.

Fender Tag Decoding For 1964 & 1965 Models:

There are five main areas to decode on a fender tag: the SO, NUMBER, BDY, TRM, and PNT.

SO and NUMBER go together as the Shipping Order number. It consists of a 4 digit planned delivery month/day code, then a plant production sequence number.

The date is decoded as follows...
JAN...1,FEB...2,MAR...3,APR...4,MAY...5,JUN...6,JULY...7,AUG...8,SEPT...9,OCT...A,NOV...B, DEC...C.

For example: June 23rd looks like this...623. October 3rd looks like this...A03.

Next is the BDY or body number indicating the model & body style.

Want to know if it's a Formula S? On the fender tag of a 65 Barracuda, look for the 'ABC'.... under the AB will be a '31' for the 273 4bbl 235hp engine. Under the C will be a '2' for the formula "S" package. The car should also have a tach in the dash..

I hope i can halp you bro

Resurrecting and old thread. We cannot tell what the numbers are under T,V,W,X, and Z. Also the codes under PAINT. Any help would be appreciated. 1965 Plymouth Barracuda. Thanks

NN4BB is silver exterior/black interior. That's what mine says/is...could light stamps be 8348_2?
T-8=tach
V-3=back up lights
W=?
X-8=retractable belts front and rear
Z-2=front bucket seat and console

sounds like a standard equipped Barracuda "S" 4sp (D-3)...with heater! (E-5)

I think a black stripe is NN4BB . My car has this plate but it was not even silver when I got it but a bronze copper color? It may have had a Raiders helmet stripe before it got murdered with that crap paint job. Also the Barracuda Silver Poly (or Chrysler silver mist poly/Dodge pale silver poly) would already be a high quailty finish. Ill lean toward the sport wood grain steering wheel as the "S" option already has firm rate shocks for the W-4

I'm sure the op has decoded it by now. But yes, hard to read the tag. You can take a clear photo of the back of the tag and I can invert it. I did that for a friend, The tag was so rusted you couldn't read it.
