As sacreligous as it sounds. I'm pretty much fed up with champion.

I am really starting to think Auto lites are the cheap and reliable way to go for a street driven daily commuter.

What is your brand and type?

You are going to get a million responses on this one. Everyone seems to have an opinion on what spark plug sucks and which ones are good. I would say picking the right heat range is more important than the brand. Another opinion, hmmmm.....

One of my pals is a retired mechanic, he says Champions are junk.

He is an Autolite fan, uses them in all 22 of his cars from small block to Hemi.

I used to swear by Champion years ago, have been using Autolite or NGK mostly the last 15 years or so. Absolutely will not use AC Delco, in my mind they are pure crap. As for type, it depends on the application, but platinum has become my primary choice of late.

Any main stream brands except splitfire, E3 and all the other snake oil plugs. If you "seem" to be having trouble with one brand, I would look for trouble elsewhere. Either you need a different heat range or you have a tuning issue.

I like Denso (Nippondenso) U-groove, this is their cross: W14PR-U, 14 is a Champion 14-16 heat range. Finish quality is amazing. Exotics are really for EFI, waste of money on coil/carb applications IMHO.

i use ngk in race apps and autolites in reg app. b careful in 5.7 hemi about using anything BUT champions bought anywhere except at dealer. there is a tsb about 5.7's in jeeps that will die at stops and restart ok, but u never find out why, even with a scan tool hooked up. my buddy is a service district mgr and says if you don't believe it, ohm mopar champions and aftermarket one and they will ohm different. mopar engineers spec'd different from aftermarket. something to do with pcm rfi/interference.

I've found Autolite's to be much more resistant to fouling in my Mopar engines than the specified Champions.

I've not had an issue with Champions in my Mopars - - ever.

Yup worked at Chrysler for 17 years only ever used champion , work at an independent shop now use Ngk will not use ac delco ,or autolights , iridium plugs do not like old engines the need to be warmed up and driven , coustomer with a bmw had his car put away for the winter was starting it every so often fouled 6/10 plugs my 2cents

Do you know of they make 10-12 heat range in denso's?

Why's that?
Cause if your making enough power and getting some cylinder heat generated, they hold up.
They work better with long duration cams, with a contaminated with exhaust combustion chamber.
I’ve noticed since running iridium plugs, and a msd, good wires, the plugs don’t really require any changing. I put them back in.
I think that’s what’s in any Hellcat or Demon or for that matter any high output later model engine, especially turbocharged or supercharged.

Champion=garbage..use nothing but Autolites:thumbsup::thumbsup:..
That’s what one of my guys, a 30 year ford tech likes, and he’s a mopar head also.
Actually he started as a Chrysler dealer tech, they closed and he got his Gm certification, and got a better offer at the Ford store.
Super sharp tech, glad I got him.
Has two 67 GTX one auto with a 498 and a 4 speed 440 Dana car. Autolites in both.
He’s warming up to NGK since being around me.
