I was planning on going with an 833 in my 65, but I’m finding my clutch leg has changed for the worse over the past few years. So, I have everything, and I mean everything, required to install the 4 speed in a 64/65 A Body: 65 transmission, shifter rods, bellhousing, pedals, hump, shifter, shifter bezel, conversion driveshaft, etc etc. Would you sell everything as a package or individually by the part? It would probably make more money selling this stuff by the individual part. However, I’d prefer to not having the harder parts to sell not laying around as space is limited.

I would try to sell it as a package. You could always piece it out. It will be a pain with boxing, shipping, and estimating if you piece it out.

A word of warning to members responding to this thread. If you offer to buy parts you will be banned from this thread. I am done messing with vultures trying to buy parts from non-sale threads.

Another vote to sell as a package. It's worth more, and gives the buyer comfort knowing he has everything, or can pick out the best parts between what you've accumulated and what they've accumulated.

If you buy the right clutch, the pedal effort should be almost nothing.
I put a Brewer Performance 10" conversion clutch in mine. It is very smooth but not heavy enough to abuse much in my opinion. I have knee and hip pain and driving it in a parade isn't fun. I don't drive it in parades any more. LOL

i also have a Brewers 10 in clutch package sitting on the shelf - not worried about it taking abuse as my abuse days are way behind me now

I would piece it out. Then you can sell the big stuff locally and ship the other parts if necessary.

To much of pain in the *** boxing all that up and selling all those parts separately.

the chances of selling the big stuff locally - transmission and bellhousing - is slim at best.

If I were a buyer I would rather get it all together rather than a piece at a time. Can take years

Maybe get lucky and trade it for a complete automatic set up !--------?? (I aint usually that lucky!)

i already have a rebuilt A500 that I was planning on my 47 project that I can use. I have another A500 that I can eventually get rebuilt for my 47

No swap meets it similar things somewhat local to you? I'm sure you know that shipping kills selling stuff like you have. Just kills it.

If you price the stuff at its real value, then add in shipping you can never sell the stuff. If you price it so the shipping doesn't kill the deal, are literally giving it away. It's for sure a double edged sword.

Of course, with the country shut down you have even fewer choices. Even swap meets are getting shut down.

You are kinda between a rock and a hard place, unless you can wait out this flu junk and find a swap meet.

Exactly. Parts sales and shipping will slow down or stop for a while. It will come back!

IDK about shipping as the Post Office and FedEx both said business as usual with full staffing. Now whether people will still be buying parts, hard to say. In demand parts- say early A 4 speed humps - will still sell at a fair price. Run of the mill stuff - probably not. On my 4 speed stuff I don’t have to sell so that’s a plus. A plus for me is I already have a rebuilt A500 (was going to be for my 47).

I would check with Fastenal, IF you could put it all on a pallet and send it, that is the way to go. Can you imagine all the BS to box, weigh and send it all piece by piece!??
Or do what my mom did to teach me to drive in "60 ( OK so I was not of age), put me in her lap and made me work the clutch and shift. Any grandkids?? lol
