I had such a blast today, fixing the fuel pump i broke yesterday, replacing the line by splicing in new one i made. Buddy chopped the overload springs out, i showed him a few tricks with the awesome air hammer to remove some badly rusted and siezed 1/2” bolts.
Then getting that truck fired up,headers and straight pipes was the icing on the cake.
Now i have to spend the next 3 days being depressed about having a job i dont want or need.Im an idiot for taking the job.

Well, back read everything.....I am bypassing the AMP meter in my 66. It is easy to do.....Al least if you understand wiring.....Keeps the high Amp circuit in the engine bay only. NOT thru the bulkhead connector. Installing a volt meter.....

I have always preferred voltmeters.
Key on, 12 volts or better-check
Cranking voltage no less than 10-check
Running voltage 13.2 to 14.6-check.
I just tested my battery, starter and alternator. What more can you ask for?

We did a complete system check like you said. Checked it all with a Sun Vat 40.

I think the gauge i have in the fargo is a s/w. Sure beats the inaccurate factory gauge in my gmc. Good approximate info.
When my 2nd battery in the back came into contact with a piece of steel and shorted, and truck stalled, the gauge did indicate a problem. The smoke billowing out of the topper was the secondary indicator, forcing me to jump into action. Hindsight, shoulda let it burn...

Going to move my oil pressure gauge and a water temp and volt gauge to a pod to the top of the dash, right where the speaker was. Small, I think that will work good....

And morning to some! Or one.

Tried sleeping. Nope. Aching shoulder and leg. Cant get comfy. So, watch tv.
