I have no idea who he is, but, RIP Mr. Popeil!
May there be a great river, pond, bay, lock and ocean to enjoy landing fish for you in the world beyond!
 
I originally associated him with Bassamatic which I latter remember that was a Dan Aykroyd spoof of the Pocket fisherman add.
 
My bud had one of the first pocket fishermans, the one with a short rod. He thought he was a big shot. But it didn't work very well lol
 
He was a cool dude. May he rest in peace.
 
When I was a kid I thought the Mr. Microphone was the ****!
Then my neighbor got one for Christmas, kinda lame.
 
I was on a golf outing up by Manitowoc a week ago. There was a bunch of FIBs at the resort for the weekend and on the course. One of them had a Pocket Fisherman and was slaying the largemouth bass in the ponds. I think it took them eight hours to get their round in but it looked like it was worth it. I'm taking a pole next year for sure.
