Trying to get some info on jacks. I know Barracudas pretty good but this one has me guessing. I believe there are two different Jacks that came in these cars. Here are two that I have. Tell me what you know. Thanks

I have both those jacks also. I believe the original 67 Formula S 383 4-speed car I have has the original jack in the trunk still, I will have to check it out and compare to yours...

Parts book has the same number for all three years (67-69),2808544. The other one is probably for a different car, it most likely has a number on it.

This is a known original 67 jack

I was trying to figure out why your Barracuda jack's look funny.

I assumed all A body jacks would have been the same with only maybe a hook change.

I have had over 500 of these 67 to 69 Barracudas and I see both of these Jack in them. Different vender?

No separate hook on the Barracuda jacks. The hook is part of the Jack.

This one is listed as NOS 2808544 on ebay if that means anything. Could the other one be for a 64-66 Barracuda or were they completely different?

Notice vertical rows of "buttons"?

This is mine. Not original to the car. Purchased about 10 years ago. Quite frankly the one with with the vertical buttons looks better made. This looks as if the support would come loose after a lot of use.

These are the 3 styles I have. I just realized I had a 3rd the middle one.

You said tell me what you know. I can do that.
Cut all the fingers of your hand at the 1st joint beyond your palm. Now try to grip/lift something. there isn't really a hook. Car will fall off. I've been there and done that, maybe before you were born. That experience Is what we go to the internet for, Right?
THIS IS THE WORST DESIGNED BUMPER JACK I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! I'm old. When Hugh Robbins opened his first tire store, He had no choice but to use the jack in the customers vehicle. Google Him or Robins Tire Greenville SC, Easley SC. Chit went sideways, I ended up working at Robbins Tire in Powdersville when I bought our 1st 67 fish. Hugh told me, "Don't ever use that jack. It's a long story and I can't type it all.
If its a trailered show car looking for restoration points, I just might sell them the OEM jack but... I would first stress the heck out of... "Don't use it!"... (I'm not looking for parts or money anymore).
But hey, you're not me. You could sell all of them to the unknowing and reap the rewards.
OK, some of my story does include recapped tires. If you would like to hear it all PM me. Just know this, I would throw these bumper jacks in the scrap bin before selling them ( I already said that didn't I?). Good luck

I believe anyone that's attempted to use one of these knows the danger. Hell just look at it! I used one for the first time on my '69 Fastback in '69. I believe he (davescuda) is trying to get an answer about the different designs.

My fingers are cut off and what’s left works fine. I don’t care that you think the Jack is a piece of ****. I been using one in my parts yard for 30 years. It works great, sketchy yes.
A lot of use like to finish off are trunk area and want the right stuff.

Did the 69 barracudas ever come with the hook valiant style jack? My barracuda when I got it has that hook style one, its also possible someone swapped them along the line. Why the difference between the valiant and barracuda?

67 to 69 Barracuda is all buy its self. But looks like they also used the older jack too

Middle one looks closest to the one that came in my '67, but I can check for the spot weld divets or what ever those are on the leftmost jack. I sure don't recall them but the last time it was out was because I needed to use it.

I've used it twice that I recall in the 30ish years I've had the car. Always with wheel chocks.
