That guys was “The Voice!” Of the NHRA & I’m going to miss him dearly because of that voice being IMO, A bold and iconic voice that was perfect for the job.

So many memories of his announcing on both television and hearing him in person at both Pomona and as Master of Ceremonies at several events during the California Hot Rod Reunion at Famoso. His voice will remain in my memories.

He's probably as much of a reason for me liking drag racing, as much as the racing itself. A legendary voice.

US Gran Prix of Moto Cross 1968 Carlsbad Ca. Wide World of Sports . McKay did a fine job on motor sports too. I was living about 10 miles away from the event at the time.
