Got the Demon fired back up. Nothing is leaking out of it, but only ran it long enough to get up to tempm. She's alive!

I gotta say, i love a company that responds to customers... emailed Cope a question bout the dragsprag and he replied in like 10 mins... and i left a comment on a 4 year old video.. replied in like a hour.. i wish more companies were like that..

They had a total eclipse in Central Oregon a year or two ago. Some people that wanted to see it thought ahead and reserved hotels before the hotels figured out it was coming. Of course the hotels cancelled all reservations made at that price and REALLY jacked up the rates, sold out too I'm sure and escpaed lawsuits in the process. We were going through the area to my sisters in Lapine OR before it happened and there was a lot of early arrivals in the area, place got real crowded I hear.
It’s already happening here. The **** and stay hotel that’s normally 40 bucks or so a night, complete with roaches and all, is sold out… charging 500 plus a night. State owned and operated Camp grounds here are normally 55 a night, it’s 250 a night.

Gonna be curious what happens now since the governor declared a state of emergency earlier this week, anti-pricing gouging laws now go into effect but the law says raising prices in excess AFTER a declared state of emergency is issued… what happens if they had already set those prices years out?

there was a 4.4 quake up by the Oregon border this mornin, it didn't get in the news
I’m curious to see if we’ll get one. Every total solar eclipse in the last 100 years, within 18 months, a major 7.0 or larger quake as occurred somewhere along the eclipse path. Including a couple years back.

Now, what those all have in common, those paths were over very active fault lines. This eclipse is over the New Madrid fault line, infact, it covers over most of it. The scary part is the largest known earthquake in this area happened just months after the last time it was in the path of a total solar eclipse. And coincidentally, the last time a 5.0 or larger quake has occurred along the new Madrid fault. So this one gives the chance to see if that holds true.

Been under my car all morning and doing my spring cleaning and checking all the nuts and bolts and making sure nothing falls off.
Need to make me a battery powered creeper I think.

Couple of used Roombas bolted to the bottom...

Ooh.... or Hoverboards

Someone has to offer that

And there it is...

It looks like 86% totality for the eclipse here. Perfect.Partly cloudy so whatever works.

That is making me hungry! When is U Conn going down this weekend? We don’t have cable or anything out here so we just stream. The last game was protected or some nonsense in our area and I could not watch it. Sure would like to see 22 get a ring.
