73 Duster build named Fred

lol, I am so sore from torquing the heads that I am moving at a snail's pace (think slacker mode engaged). :steering:
Use a cheater pipe (like the jack handle tube, especially since your hood comes off), the torque wrench won’t know the difference, but you will!

Also works great for those wheel lugs:

Oops…. Forgot I need to top off the trans fluid. I redid the trans cooler lines while I was waiting on the heads and lost about 3 quarts. Guess what else I can’t find although I can’t remember if I had any…. lol

Went for a drive and it ran like ****. I know the tune up is off and I’ll need to go up on the jets (or at least I think that’s what I need to do) but that will happen when I get it on the dyno this Friday. Until then, hole is cut and scoop is bonded to the hood. Once it cures, I’ll blend it in and paint.

Well crap. Private track rental got postponed from this Saturday to Wednesday the 17th. Damn it....might have to go to Vegas instead! lol

Not much going on thanks to the weather we have right now so I’ll share a photo from last year.

What a 10 second truck pulling a 9 second car looks like. :steering:

Fred ought to be closer to 9 after the fiberglass and port diet he went on recently…maybe arrange some tail wind with Mother Nature, or give the “tow rig” a little head start and draft behind it

Yes it’s lame for a race car but they serve a purpose. lol

Installed a phone mount and turn signal switch. I use my phone to control my GoPros so it’s convenient. Scored a deal on a brand new Motion Raceworks turn signal switch which will only be used when I go on a drag n drive cruise. Now the car is truly street legal…. :steering:

I also fixed the 2-step and tested. Now I’ll be able to leave consistently.
