I’ve got the measurements down but the way the shims press against the sleeve on the input shaft just doesn’t look quite right to me.

Thanks for any input.

When fully released and pushed all the way rearward, as long as everything seat solidly on the base, and your throwout bearing is clear of the spinning clutch release fingers while the shims are fully seated, it looks correct.

Confirm you are using a spring to pull everything back to the released position (stacked together) when the clutch is released?

Confirm the angle of the shims in the center picture is just to show the clearance between the shims opening and the shaft they ride on?

Also, I very slightly lubricated the sliding assembly with synthetic disc brake grease and replaced the guide rod with a Grade 8 bolt I modified.

I believe I would have a machine shop carve out something solid that's the correct width.

I used a spacer that has the grub screw to set it in place, machined it down, and filled the rest of the gap with shims

They sell Ford ones in .7 and .38 but they are for the Toploader and Hemi a833 shaft size, Mopar only .7

Believe mine is taken down about half way

This is the type I am talking about

Mine is a hydramax on a T56 and I called TREMEC and American powertrain both because I wanted to make sure it was correct. Both assured me it was as long as the stack up is tight when the clutch is disengaged, and nothing hits, your fine.

I tried using the same piece, but the spacing wasn't correct.
