Hi,

I just bought a cherry '75 Duster for my kids. It is a numbers matching car with it's build sheet and pics and flyer of when it was new. Sarah will be 16 years old in October and her brother two years later.

Not only did we get the car but an almost built up crate 360 with a comp cam, a new dizzy with electronics and a 4 brl Holly, a 727 trans, a 8 3/4 rear end and a full TTI exhaust w/ceramic headers.

Here are some pics..

The kids and I taking apart the rear end and trans just to make sure all is OK and to replace bearings and plates..better now than later :) and we will do the swap next summer but we are just driving it now and having a lot of fun.

We have scored a set bucket seats that need to be rebuilt and the bits to convert it to disk brakes...they need to be rebuilt as well... I think we will have a set of torsion bars soon.

I have been talking with the really great folks on allpar but I noticed this forum in one of the mags that I have been reading.

Oh, I have also bought a ton of books trying to stay one step ahead of the kids..

Any other folks from Nova Scotia here ?

I'm from Porter's Lake and also have a 1975 Duster that came from California and looks very similar to yours see avatar. There are a great group of guys here that are very helpful.

Welcome.

Nova Scotia is a great place I've been there many times. I've been known to hang out at the Chapman reunion at the Ovens in the past.

Have they fixed the highway (paved road as well) that runs North/South from New Brunswick ?
It had ruts so deep from truck traffic you could let go of the steering wheel, in a couple of spots I bottomed out.

Welcome to FABO from the heart of the continent!:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Thanks !!! I find this site really cool and have logged a bunch of time on it so far :)

Yes, they have fixed up the roads..I go to fredericton more than I want to...they have put in a bypass road that cuts off a lot of dull driving...but remember..summer is the time they like to rip up the roads...as for the ovens..that road is bumpy and they haven't done any updates to the oven site is 35 years :)

I didn't mention that the duster has only 33k miles on it :)

If anyone is interested, I can start a log of what we are doing and the problems we run into when we start next year.

Welcome to FABO Grassy , another one from Alberta. The project with your kids is a great idea. Be careful though, I started a 68 Mustang project with my 16 year old daughter which was just supposed to be a refresh and rebuild and turned into a full restore. Man that girl's picky---but she's there with me grease up to the elbows. Your children will remember the time you spend in the garage with them forever, like I did with my dad. Kev

Welcome from Maryland. I met a couple brothers from NS at Carlisle's spring show a few years back. Hung out all week end. A couple of real good guys, even though they were into brand X cars.

That's one pretty little Duster, good luck with her, Joe.

Welcome to the site grassy! I'm from the other side of the bay. That is a great looking Duster you have there. Make plans to attend next years Atlantic Nationals, you will be asked many times starting next spring.
