Anone use the Accurate LTD exhaust system- seems complete front to back.
If so, I have a couple questions?
Do you have to cut the rear valence?
Use with 7 1/4 and 8 3/4 rears?
Price is $895- a lost for single exhaust- but then there has been a NOS resonator for $759 on ebay for months- but then-not sold.
Anyone use the resonator that Dale's Cua sells?
Thanks,
I am planning on using on my '65 signet

Tom sell some good quality stuff. Considering nobody else sells the resonator that is close to NOS Tom gets my vote. I have the single modified Y-pipe on my 64 vert and the resonator. Also using the resonator on my 64 post car. both have 8.75 rearends

Not trying to hyjack the thread, but... I was looking at this exhaust for my car too. There seems to be varying information on whether the original HIPO cars had a muffler. Or did they just use the resonator? Thanks.

I am going to use this also. I am not buying the chrome tip and resn. Anyone use anyother muffle and tailpipe?

Have the complete accurate hi-po set up on my 65 valiant & it is top of the line. Yes setup is not cheap but as close to original as you can get and fits perfect. You will have to cut rear valence if not original hi-po car and should work with either rear. Here is a picture of mine showing resonator tip & short video of how accurates setup sounds.

I've seen originals with mufflers, and I've seen them with the chambered intermediate pipe. They all had the resonators. The ones with mufflers were automatics though. The one I absolutely fell in love with was a '66 Formula S with a 4 speed and the chambered pipe. 44 years later and I can still get wood over the sound of that thing going by the house around 6000 RPM in 3rd gear. Best sounding exhaust ever put on an A body.

I can't speak for all years but my 66 parts book shows both the Valiant and Dart
as having a muffler and resonator. The replacements were either aluminized or zinc coated. Mike

I had a '64 and I was so jealous when my buddy got a '65 Commando. His came with the muffler. When I first saw the muffler I thought it had been dropped at the factory because it had bent corners. Later i discovered that every Commando I looked at had a muffler with bent corners. I guess the bends were for additional clearance. Everyone is spot on with the comments on that sound. The coolest exhaust note ever!

I have a NOS resonator, keeping it until I die though since stupiddart340 convinced me that my parts are worthless.

At least you can see what a real NOS one looks like.

I have a copy of a magazine review of a new (at the time) 1965 Formula S Barracuda. The last thing they said in the article was something like "Hell, we'd buy it for the exhaust note alone!"

California cars had the muffler. I talking with an original owner of one of these cars there was an option of resonator only

Your car is beautiful!
I noticed that your car was originally a 2 barrell car also. did you have to cut the rear valence for the resonator?

I've never seen a Commando car without a muffler-that started with my Valiant 100 2 door sedan (a year old in 1966)with a 4 speed, 4.56 gears( broke it the first day)-was fun with 6.50 X 13 2 ply tires......

I happen to know two original early A owners and both claim their Commando/Charger cars didn't come with a muffler. I've seen both cars and they both have their original exhaust systems. Both have the solid single pipes coming off the manifolds all they way over the rear axle into the resonator. It could of been installed by the dealer.

I used Accurate for my complete exhaust system on my 67 ragtop Barracuda. It fit great and sounds good too. I did not get the resonator however but I did stay with a single exhaust for my 318. The entire system took about 1/2 hour to install and everything fit perfectly.

Hello Gib, I also have a complete Accurate exhaust with the straight through muffler and resonator on my 66. Fits great and Sounds Great. I've had the original exhaust, straight through muffler and straight through resonator since I was a kid. Dan
