    Axle Studsss

You might not even need larger size splines, just fresh ones. It depends on what stripped, the studs or the hub. But I am one of those that has tack welded studs on the back side. On an original four lug Girling front disc for an English Ford, converted to large pattern mopar.. Pulled the disc...

Can you recommend a source for them? The reason why they’re on there is because this car was used for drag racing before I got it. There’s a lot of stuff missing off of it.

I recommend some blue loctite on steering box to k frame bolts and torque to specs.
  22. N

    Lean idle. Rich cruise.

I would say you are going to need at least 22 initial and 24 would be better. Then you have to delay the curve until you get up to 1700-1800 and then you probably will be 27-28 at peak torque. After that 1.5-2.0 degrees per 1000 RPM until you get to your maximum RPM. That’s probably pretty...

Timing Chain Cover crankshaft opening is the wrong size

Just for future info....the early cover started in 1959 and was used up until early 1968 in poly 318's, LA 318's, 273's and 340's. They used a bolt-on timing mark that bolted to the lower water pump bolts and was ignition timed on the passenger side (for LHD cars ) Late in '68 and in '69...

Thanks for the tips. They aren't sloppy in hole loose, just turning in the hole. May just try some with larger splines.

Will do, probably be a few weeks before that happens, have to get the proper paints and get that done first. A couple interesting things about the seller, he's also from Manitoba originally, and he owns a custom hot rod shop now. Had I known that before I went to pick up the wheels, I might have...

    Lean idle. Rich cruise.

Well, I did machine a bushing for my MSD distrib that should be around 10 degrees. The 18 that they provide(the least amount), is way too much. I think. I don't know how this thing would idle at 15 degrees initial. Cam is solid roller .668/.668 259/265 . Might try it. Can't hurt.
