I would have no reservations running 20w-50 in a modest small block. Especially in your Arizona heat. Obviously too thick for any break in use. But for Arizona street use? Probably the best choice.

K.. so to put this to bed.. i went and found some dyno numbers.... First... the guy everyone loves (if you love manifolds and stock cams) 320HP.. 383.. And then a basically stock freshened up 360 making bout 55 more HP..... I think this ends the thread nicely :)

Round 1 of Car Club Challenge. Got an exhaust leak at the header flange right as I got pulled up.

Got the lawn done, didn't miss mowing the hill all winter, now can mow the path all the way down to the lake but still have to pick a good line to get back up. With the front and side yards 2 1/2 to 3 hours I can't get back.

shop manual says to torque 340's to 95 ft lbs.. why is it it doesn't warp 340 blocks with no issues with gaskets, heads or blocks? 273 is basically same block with smaller bore.
